I'm sure this guy isn't a person who grew up in a small Christian Conservative community being oppressed by those darned Christian Conservatives, who isn't like all the other racist Christian Conservatives who are all stupid but he's not, who work blue collar jobs because they're stupid and didn't go 300k into debt for a liberal arts degree, and thinks Christian Conservatives are evil and stupid... because reasons. This shit activates my almonds. The whole "triggered" concept came from the left as part of their speech = violence narrative; because if you say something mean to someone you might "trigger" their PTSD or something, so we need to restrict what can be said on certain public forums and create "safe spaces" where WrongThink can't hurt anyone!

Sorry about the sperging. I just hate when people shit on the working classes. Sure they might not have the most fanciest education or be the most nuanced when it comes to racial issues, but really what matters most is that they are the heart and soul of a nation and it's economic/political future. To insult the working class is basically shitting on the backs of the people that built this nation. Again, not every person in the working class is someone to look up to or even emulate in many ways, but that still doesn't change the fact that without the working class, we wouldn't even be able to live in luxury like this (not only from the past, but in the here and now as this pandemic is demonstrating). It really goes to show how little liberals are willing to get outside this myopic worldview that puts them on top because they have a degree, which will depreciate in value in ~10-20 years just due to the student loan bubble bursting.

Chomsky did defend Faurisson.... The Faurisson Affair.
In a way, it was sort of a dry run to ensure there would be no supporters of someone accused by the academic mafia. Atwood faced a milder form of it a couple of years ago.
Chomsky just became more and more insufferable after that though. It's clear he learned his lesson and would shut up, ethics be damned after that. The Faurisson Affair was still causing him lost book sales in FRance 20+ years later, and his defense of academic freedom has been non-existent for some time.
Shit, just a couple of years ago on Jezebel IIRC I saw someone refer to him as a Nazi, so I think in some circles, his defending of academic freedom has permanently blighted his image, and on the other side, his anti-American attutude has done the same.
It's actually surprising ANYONE listens to him now.
The tl;dr: He offered some value in linguistics and at one point defense of academic liberty and ideological variation. HE should have stuck with that.

People will just switch to the Yuan or the local power in their region’s currency. Remember very well that China has their hands deep in every continent and nearly every country. When a country is on hard times, its not the US that comes with investment opportunities, it’s China. If the US collapses, China will pick up the pieces and dominate this fucking planet.
Given how ineffectual, corrupt and unintelligent our leadership are, this is what we fucking deserve. Democracy is a failure. We are so tied up debating in congress, lobbying, protesting, suing, campaigning, etc. while China has stabilized their regime and developed their country to a level the world has never seen. We talk while China acts, we stand while China walks, we crumble while China builds.

Seriously, while I get racism isn't something to aspire to, what, exactly is immoral (Which Hulk obviously thinks it is, otherwise he wouldn't lump it in the same category) about an "unskilled" labor job? Or not being as "educated" as the next person?
For that matter, I refuse to accept his description of "uneducated" being accurate, because that would suggest you never even got a chance at primary education, much less passed, and I KNOW that it's statistically improbable to the point of impossible for ALL of Hulk's extended family, coworkers, neighbors and townspeople around him, sans him, to be illiterate dropouts of grade school without GEDs, as he very clearly implies.
Also, since his definition is that out-of-whack, that apparently not rising to his level of education makes you uneducated, then I have to call into question his ability to actually grade if another person is REALLY being racist, or really IS unskilled.... as he claims. Again, I find it improbable to the point of being an embellishment that EVERYONE around him is not only dumb, but racist and unable to do anything more complicated than tie their own shoes without causing a fire.
I mean, "unskilled" means just that, you have no training for any job and can't be relied upon to do anything that you don't already do at your home on your own like filing, sweeping and just moving boxes around.... even the simplest of trade work requires some skill and familiarity with equipment that isn't found around the house..
SO yeah, he's most likely flaunting his degree and the fact he's never held a "simpleton's" job as proof of his superiority, not making an honest observation.
But, again, even if he was honest, what exact moral defect is evidenced by being a general laborer without an MBA? Isn't that the kind of person the Democrats, for years, have said they want to be the champions of?

I'd agree if I saw too much of that going on here, but rarely do I see screens from the other thread. This thread is 3000+ pages long with 40 responses each page, even if 1000 screenshots were posted from the other, it's a drop in the ocean and hardly worth commenting on. If someone finds stupid shit being said in the other thread (which surely there's at least 106 pages worth of material to do so at the time of this posting), then so be it. This thread's main theme is to mock those inflicted with TDS after all, so it fits the bill. I'd personally prefer to let them have their little play corner and leave them be because the rest of the internet has an abundance of TDS, but I can't control what somebody else does on the farms.
And if you're going to call people out in this thread I hope you're doing the same thing over there, because I'd bet my last dollar they're doing the exact same thing.
