IIRC it was because his state wanted to ban a bunch of things including conversion therapy for adults in a pro-alphabet bill, he then vetoed the bill saying something along the lines of 'we can't exactly ban whatever you don't like because of a thing called the Constitution'. May be fake news all the way around.
