Excuse me, suspension of disbelief is the price you pay for watching/reading this show. You’re just supposed to assume it works without asking questions. It’s not his job to explain what the fan fiction writers should come up with. Learn your place dammit!
He has it completely backwards in regards to what the creator owes the audience VS what fanfic writers focus on. Like, Harry Potter fanfiction could focus on background characters we don't really see much of and flesh them out more than in the series, but JK Rowling still established how the world functions herself.

Enter is doing exactly what the fanfic writers would do if he had any; making a surplus of episodes about every random character that pops into his mind. Yet he's expecting the fanfic writers to fill in the massive gaps he leaves in the story.

I agree entirely, but JK Rowling in particular is a bit of a bad example since she does indeed create hundreds of random characters with full lore biographies and constantly retcons her own lore whenever it’s convenient or they become “problematic.” If anything, and I do mean if anything at least John knows how to stick to his guns. He does it to a detrimental extreme, but he does it at least

He still seems to believe this show is Bojack Horseman for kids.
The fact that he believes this to be true just baffles me. In what way is GA anything like Bojack? I can't think of a single thing. I don't watch Bojack, but from what little I know about it, it's not a shallow, cliche wreck like GA. Bojack actually fucking subverts expectations by not letting the titular character off the hook for being an asshole unlike how GA does with Sally.

Hell, if he wanted it to be like Bojack, he could've had Linda Autumn go through with not being Sally's magician after she had sassed her, or whatever she did that time. It would've sort of been like what happened in that Bojack episode that he himself reviewed. But then he'd have to have bad things happen to his precious daughterfu, and we know that isn't going to happen any time soon.

Seriously, the only conceivable way GA could be even remotely like Bojack is if Enter played all the fridge horror in his series completely straight, and portrayed its setting as the hellhole it should truly be.

To be fair, Enter did backpedal on the "Bojack for kids" claim in his commentary video. The only connection he admits to is the vague recurring theme of "That thing you see on television is absolutely bullshit, and there's a lot of harsh reality behind it." Every time he attempts to teach a moral, it's always trying to subvert the moral 1000 other shows would teach, for better or worse.

And I don't blame you for not reading the book, but what you described is literally what happened. Linda Autumn did refuse to be Sally's magician, and Sally did have to figure shit out on her own. Say what you will about Sally's position as a daughterfu, but Enter at least understands the purpose of conflict.

Well, I'm glad he has that much sense.

Ah, forgive me. I didn't read the book, but I did listen to a dramatic reading of it a while ago, and while I did remember Sally, and Talula having a dare-off, I incorrectly remembered Autumn coming in to save the day at the last moment with her magician act. Sorry about that. I'll give credit where credit's due then.

I was talking to some friends about Growing Around and the commentary video when one of them made an interesting point:
Mr. Enter is kinda like John Kricfalusi when it comes to criticism. They rag on about every little thing and then the cartoons they makes are filled to the brim with the same shit they yell about in their hypocritical reviews.

I never thought of that, but after she said it, I realized how much sense it makes, comparing Mr. Enter to John K. Along with what she mentioned, both are egotistical as all hell about their own productions (a reminder that Growing Around came from Enter watching a failed pilot from a failed anthology series and thinking "I can do better than that"), both have a dwindling group of ravenous fans willing to defend them to a tee, and both are desperately trying to gain (or regain) some relevance and to be seen as important in the animation industry.

But, I'll give John K. this: At least his animated series eventually came out.

They both also have a history of sexualizing little girls.

but lets be real. Though John K. Is notoriously hard to work with and can’t keep a deadline to save his life(even the Simpsons mocked him for that), he is still an insanely talented man who found success in his dream profession. Something that will never be said about Enter

He couldn't have found better footage of that PSone game? Maybe it really does have good animation, but it's pretty hard to tell when the recording is of such bad quality.

Nice to see him join in on the Orange Man Bad train, even if only slightly. I don't really see his point that a dumb president in a cartoon becomes frightening just because sometimes we end up with a dumb president for real.

Maybe it was just him trying to make a piss poor point about how art imitates real life? Either way this is still the same guy who is too scared to go to college in fear of getting raped.

Sanjay and Craig Nick o' rama out tomorrow. Knowing gross-out humor is kryptonite to him, I think we know what to expect in this reeeeview:

Deep thoughts from a fan of someone who chimped out over some edgelord kid joking about him being a pedo:

Inching towards almost a full month overdue on the Nick o' rama marathon and he still has quite a few more shows to get through. As we all predicted, Enter took a gamble and it quickly feel apart due to his poor planning and laziness.

Personally, I just want to see more of those GA commentaries. If he continues making them, they will definitely be the best milk we've gotten from Enter in a while.

Maybe people didn't pick up on his sarcasm because he used the same, whining tone he uses for all his complaints. And, with how many things he's gotten wrong so far in this marathon, I don't blame people for thinking he was legitimately being dumb again.

I wonder if every single one is going to involve more of him reeing that anyone who thinks he can't write is just too stupid to understand his brilliance.
