for FTMs if they don’t get all their reproductive organs removed their cancer risk is astronomical
not sure if there’s been studies on MTFs but men whose mothers took estrogen while pregnant (used to be common for doctors to prescribe) have been shown to have an increased prostate cancer risk, so I’m sure MTFs are at an even worse risk

This is why I don’t believe hormones are actually “lifesaving”. Trans activists like to claim that if some trans person doesn’t get the hormones they want, they will an hero. There’s a reason you shouldn’t mess with hormones in the body. They do more than just grow boobs. Hormones also regulate the body. The only time hormones should probably be given are for people that have had their ovaries/testicles removed, and need the proper hormones to prevent worse things from happening. If anything, giving opposite sex hormones to troons probably makes mental illnesses worse, rather than better.

Like, at minimum, someone that’s dosing themselves and is on HRT should have their levels monitored at least every few weeks by a doctor. Your risk of cancer, heart disease, and stroke can increase wildly across both ends of the troon spectrum if your levels are fucked. Not only that, but they play a huge role in mood regulation. It’s like how sometimes cis women start hormone based BC and have wild mood swings for the first month because they’re suddenly inundating their body with a fat hit of estrogen and progesterone every day. Fuck, even depoprovera can spur suicidal ideation in otherwise hormonally normal cis women, even ones with no predisposition to depression. The fact that so many troons treat it with the same care as a one-a-day vitamin while also fighting for the right for minors to have access to puberty blockers is fucking BONKERS!
AND ANOTHER THING.... re: hormone blockers, in cis girls, if they’re started even slightly after the onset of puberty, they don’t fucking do anything. Age of onset for female puberty is generally between 9-12, sometimes even earlier if a child goes through precocious puberty. So, what, if your kid doesn’t know she’s trans by seventh grade she either has to ~*let the horrors of female puberty ruin her body*~ or start androgel?? (which, btw, carries a much higher risk of heart attack than injectable T)
I don’t see anything wrong with kids having access to counselors and psychotherapists that are competent in treating gender dysphoria, or even necessarily allowing them space to be GNC or to slowly socially transition with a wardrobe, hair cuts, and nicknames. All of that is reversible. But to give someone who can’t even sign off on their own medical paperwork the power to decide their fertility and physical well-being just seems like it’s a step too far.

HRT for FTM trannies means they basically take the same stuff that bodybuilders take (illegally) to get super jacked, and it comes with all the same nasty side effects and long term complications. bodybuilding forums are full of people describing how they have suffered permanent liver or kidney damage from steroid use, how their natural T levels went to shit after going off steroids again, how the test injections caused testicular atrophy, how they became impotent, infertile or both, how they suddenly had serious problems with high blood pressure and were told by doctors that they are now at very high risk to suffer a heart attack, etc.
tl;dr human endocrine system is easily disrupted and does not deal well with outside interference. going on HRT is a catastrophic disaster waiting to happen.
