In my opinion, AGP is just a fetish. Anyone (except maybe ciswomen?) can have it regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. The labels HSTS and AGP don't seem particularly useful since there's cis guys and homosexual transsexuals who are autogynephiles.

Strictly speaking, AGPs fetishize womanhood in its own end. Specifically, they are turned on by the idea of having female bodily functions like menstruation and pregnancy, and being accepted into women groups. This is quite different from the female fantasies of cis (gay) men and HSTSs, who fetishize womanhood instrumentally, as part of the story that end up with them fucking hunky men. Of course overlaps exist, but you rarely hear cis gay men giggling and talking about their "period cramps" and cravings for pickles, or demanding to be in support groups for female rape victims.

I'm re-reading Anne Lawrence's book on autogynephilia and apparently in Blanchard's studies the bisexual identified trannies tended to have the strongest reaction to AGP prompts when they did those "measure your boner" tests.

Sleeping with men alone doesn't make you a HSTS. It's all a little more complicated than the way it gets painted in casual conversation and a lot of people oversimplify or misinterpret Blanchard's findings (I think the biggest misinterpretation is that Blanchard's models identify HSTS's as the "real" transsexuals and AGPs as "fakes" that should be dissuaded from transition, but that's not the case at all, in fact there's some evidence that AGPs tend to be more satisfied with their transitions and are less likely to desist, the models aren't about real vs fake)
