I knew this after watching a few of his vids, I said this a while back and a bunch of people got very mad. Fun to watch, but my theory was always "Yale MFA actor doing a project."
 
I read all this yesterday, blown away like everyone else. Then it was oh well, lifegoeson.jpg. But when I went to bed that night, I dreamt about Jace. Dream Jace said I have to go anon, and I won't be coming back. I won't lie man, I felt those feels. My heart was touched and I don't fucking like it lol. I hate revealing my power level like this, but whatever.
 
This is just a thought, asside from Wu didn't they also get some white supremacist to with the Tyce an analchest cookbook?

It sort of worked because people assumed Jace picked these things up from the memetic stereotype in an effort to prove his gamerness.

The Jace Hoax worked by taking refuge in audacity, pulling out all the stops and combining all these flagship punchable traits into one character. That character was mentally ill, and as such could be written off as adopting this persona and not really understanding his own subculture. It worked. The existence of Tyce and Eli in particular seemed to seal the deal, and having video of these dumbasses accumulate over so much time was enough to reassure a casual viewer that maybe these guys were actual people. Enough material could make it plausible that there existed, say, an illiterate stoner juggalo dipshit with a skeleton obsession who legitimately believed "analchest" was a word.

Remember how everyone was questioning whether or not the cookbook was actually Tyce? It was so ridiculous that it needed to be proved it was Tyce's, but Tyce's existence had already been accepted as a fact so once that hurdle was cleared it became 100% factual content that we believed a person had genuinely made. Similarly, sending Eli to Israel was ludicrous but a bit of video was enough to "prove" it.

We have been well and truly manipulated, ladies and gents, and I for one just can't even be mad.

I think he was an idiot for diving into Gamergate with these characters at the end, yeah, but holy shit what a ride. We believed an autistic guy flipped his mom's car trying to street race a twitter sjw. What a magical internet.

I mean, they're dedicated and highly skilled, there's no doubt about that, but they're straight-up nuts to carry on a ruse this long at great personal expense (in terms of money, health, and dignity).

Yeah and Van Gogh chopped off his ear. People do the the dumbest shit for the things they love. And as much as a troll/ruse it was, these guys must have loved it to be so dedicated to the effort.
 
*sigh* I've gone back and analyzed some of the videos and while it's hard to admit it, I guess there's no other explanation than I was well and truly trolled by all this.

The final nail in the coffin had to be the phone call with Reuben. Jace was surprisingly adept and agile in that situation and it lacked the stoner edge that he had shown in other videos namely the ones where he deals with Tyce. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this was a troll worthy of Andy Kaufman himself. Bravo. :semperfidelis:

Now I need to see this livestream more than ever if for no other reason than to see them in their natural habitat.
