If anything MDE doesn't really mean shit to me. Jace/Jan really deserves the fucking credit for this.

Not everyone believed he was legit, but generally the ones who didn't played along with it. I was always pretty sure Jace and crew were characters, albeit very well played ones. I put a bunch of people I know from outside of the farms and in real life onto DN, and we were all of more or less the same conclusion: it was probably a really incredible performance, but we didn't really give a shit about the legitimacy of it or whatever because it was so goddamn great. I think I made one or two comments to the effect of saying that it was an act but I never felt the need to throw that around because there was no point. Some people seemed to need to cling to a sense of legitimacy to be able to enjoy it and there's no point in trying to ruin that.

Now that there's concrete evidence to indicate a ruse I guess things are different. Nonetheless, I'm rather hoping that at least for a while Jace will ignore this and carry on with whatever crazy, funny shit I presume he's cooking up. Maybe after a while he can bring DN to a graceful, natural conclusion. Or a bloodbath ending.
If that happens then I'm really hoping more people learn to play along a little bit as well.

I've always gone back and forth about Jace being real.

It always seemed like a lot of what he did was at the very least intentionally exaggerated, but at the same time I thought that attention grabbing was just part of his personality or something.

Honestly, looking at Jan Rankowski etc., isn't it possible this disabled kid grew up to be Jace? And Jace, thinking that a name like 'Jan' was a gay name and got a name change? As for Gail/Gayle, have we seen any official documentation of it being Gail? I wouldn't put it past Jace (persona or no) to misspell his own mothers name like that.

As for Tyce using his account, Jace recently stated that he misses him and the crew as a whole. Maybe they recently got back in contact with the Wupocalypse (now having a common enemy again) and Jace let him borrow the account?

Either way, Deagle Nation was/is a fucking blast. I'm gonna wait till more evidence is presented before making any judgements.

This saga may have come to end, but even if he's a performance artist I doubt this lolcow is out of milk quite yet. ;)

I like how the people saying that Jace was obviously fake have mostly just watched one or two videos of him. If you really dig into the whole thing, it's absolutely not obvious he's fake, because man, faking all that shit would not only take so much effort, but also require whoever made it to pretty much dedicate all of their time to it. As people said, it's really one of the most impressive feats in entertainment history.

I also really wouldn't be surprised if, as some other people also speculated, Deagle Nation was less of a complete "fake" and more of a concious exaggeration. Some of the stuff they did (Prius Crash, Gamershack, but also pretty much everything) seemed like it was pretty difficult to pull off without pretty much just actually being the character you're trying to play. If whoever was involved in this didn't act completely different when "the camera wasn't running", I don't see why it would be considered a fake or ruse cruise. If they did, then they deserve to be applauded. I really want to see a Making Of now to get absolute certainty on what exactly was faked and to what extent (and how), and what (if anything) was just actual insanity/stupidity.

Hindsight is 20/20 obviously, and people who don't want to look :stupid: when all of us here (and others) universally fell for the ruse.

The only time I ever felt that something was out of whack was at the very end during the "Christ Zone" stream. I have the misfortune of having known some Bible thumpers IRL and while they're not exactly smart people, none of them talk the way that Gail does. But again, as I said, hindsight etc.

As for me, I still #STANDWITHSTRYKER

You might be underestimating the dedication of a good performance artist, "living as the character" is very much part of it.
