Bipolar I manic episodes can look pretty much identical
To a schizophrenic psychosis. The difference is that people with bipolar disorder will have the psychosis alongside a mood episode (whether manic or depression).
Someone with schizophrenia doesn’t have the mania or depression.
That’s a simplified explanation anyhow. Poor woman is suffering greatly from these delusions and totally believes all this crazy shit. The only way to convince her otherwise is to get her on meds for mood stabilisation and antipsychotics and to gradually reassure that the delusions are false. But that takes a ton of money and resources and she’s obviously not wanting help..in the UK though she would absolutely be taken to hospital (against her will) under the mental health act.
I’ve known far less severe patients
