Something different now: Jennifer Wohlenberg and her three spoonie daughters, because we simply do not have enough munchausen by proxy by internet in this thread.

Jenn Wohlenberg is a MBP horror-mom living in the Greater LA area with her husband and three adult daughters. She is sometimes discussed in the Susan Schofield-Cabana thread, but not in much detail. ICYMI the Schofields are a wholly depressing psychiatric MBP case where bipolar parents and later a likely sexual predator stepparent abused and trained their children to act “psychotic,” doctor shopped to get schizophrenia dx’s, and then chemically lobotomized their kids over a decade. Older child Jani (17) could barely write her name and Bodhi (11) was practically non-verbal when CPS swooped in and took them away in February after Dr. Phil got involved. Now the kids are in foster/group home care and mostly off their meds. Jani no longer believes she ever had schizophrenia and refuses to see her mother.

Jenn was friends with the Schofields and used to claim her two older daughters, Brenna and Ailish, had severe psychiatric conditions including childhood onset schizophrenia. Here’s an article from 2010 describing the girls’ mental illnesses. Brenna was sent to residential treatment around this time and later to the Devereaux Cleo Wallace facility. Ailish allegedly tried to kill herself when she was six. She, too, was sent to residential treatment in her teens.

This video from 2010 shows two children who were trained from birth to act crazy so mom could have attention as the suffering caregiver of two mentally disturbed kids. Unfortunately in the wake of Jani and Bodhi being pulled from their parents, a lot of the videos of other children in their orbit were removed and this is the only video I could find of them.

Jenn has since completely dropped any psych claims, purged her blog, and has moved on to physical ailments. Now she includes youngest daughter Keiran in the fun. The girls' health declines coincided with them graduating high school and becoming adults. All three kids are on disability and conditioned to believe they're too disabled to do anything with their lives. They have no practical skills and are completely dependent on Mom.

Jenn also claims to have a mile-long list of health complications herself, mainly lupus but also myasthenia gravis, Sjogren. Raynauds, migraines, and fibromyalgia, amongst others.

According to insiders, after that Gypsy Rose Blanchard show "The Act," Ailish began to believe her mother had MBP and she was not actually sick. She stopped playing along and subsequently mom stopped talking to/about her. I don’t know how true this is and Jenn’s bio still says she has three chronic adult kids.

Brenna is a genderspecial who goes by Noah and they/them pronouns as of 2015. Kieran briefly decided she wanted to be called Celiene but apparently it didn’t stick.

Jenn’s whole insta was boring suburban mom stuff for a year or more - pancake breakfasts, swim meets, running, recipes, vacations. Suddenly in August 2013, she's got IV lines in and is tagging #lupus and #lupussucks.

Jenn may have actual health problems, I really can't tell. It doesn't change the fact that she's OTT and doctor-shopping her children around trying to get them diagnosed too, and that one of her own kids abandoned her because she figured out that she wasn’t actually sick.

Looks like all of them are NEETs now and very little is on the horizon for them except more tests and unnecessary procedures. I don't know if this is a case where there's a grain of truth in the claims but they're blown out of proportion, or if Jenn is spiking their infusions to make them sick, or just plain old conditioning them to act a certain way until it becomes psychosomatic. Also can't confirm Ailish has really accused her mother of MBP. Still, an interesting case in what happens when a mom wants to be famous for bravely suffering through adversity and has three young dependents to manipulate.

Lyme sperging.

Lyme is an interesting one. I live in an area rife with it. Now: Lyme is increasing in prevalence as are almost all the tick bourne diseases and Lyme can indeed be nasty. What it can’t be is chronic. It’s not a real diagnosis. Most people with Lyme either clear it themselves or need a short course of antibiotics. Longer courses of antibiotics have been shown to be more harmful than beneficial and so shouldn’t be used.

Where it gets complex is that a few percent of people do actually suffer post infection complications- however this is NOT chronic infection. It’s more akin to something riling your immune system. The mechanism still isn’t known.
Lots of diseases can do this - a lot of the tropical viruses like dengue and chikungunya can cause lingering arthritis and pain for example.

So PTLDS (post treatment Lyme syndrome) is a thing. What’s not a thing is chronic Lyme. You treat by treating the symptoms, so NSAIDs for the joint pain etc. You do not shove weeks of antibiotics through a PICC line into your patient. You also do not diagnose without a clear ELISA positive.

Ticks generally only transmit disease after 36-48 hours of feeding so get the little fuckers off fast. It is possible to develop Lyme without knowing you’ve been bitten because not all tick bites are obvious. Not all infections cause the characteristic bullseye rash either.[\SPOILER]

I rather enjoy Lyme discussions but come at it from a different angle. Brief former gig at a vet’s office, where we actually had quite a few dogs with Lyme. It was never anything other than Lyme bc quite honestly it was well understood that Lyme can have lasting consequences particularly joint pain in dogs. You give them doggie NSAIDs and some other supplements for joints and life goes on. This was maybe 8 years ago. Apparently there is a new trend in veterinarians offices where they are turning to CHRONIC LYME specifically like the woo human physicians. I am merely a lowly dog owner now so don’t have any inner workings of vet practices today other than mine isn’t a crazy woo money hungry practitioner - anyone familiar with this?

The thought is that we have had several winters in the past decade where the temperatures have not been low enough to kill the ticks from the previous seasons, allowing those ticks to overwinter and make it to the next spring/summer, increasing the tick population.

There are several tests in veterinary medicine that can test for "Lyme exposure"- ie rapid ELISA snap tests that check for antibodies. There is also a test that checks paired titers to B burgdorferi to evaluate for current infection. These tests usually also check for other common tick borne diseases including Ehrlichia spp and Anaplasma spp antibodies. Many dogs test positive on these exposure tests, but are not clinical and do not require treatment.

Unfortunately, dogs can develop Lyme nephritis, which is a glomerulonephropathy in which the antibody complexes get stuck in the glomerulus and (usually) cause chronic kidney disease. Prognosis is poor-grave. Current recommendation for any dog testing positive on a B burgdorferi antibody test is to perform a urine protein: creatinine to evaluate for overt proteinuria. If present, treatment with doxycycline is recommended, then monitoring UPC.

Dogs do get Lyme arthropathy, but we mostly care about the kidney sequelae.

Ah, sorry for the tangent, but Lyme disease is a hot button for me because so many people are misinformed and I'm happy to educate.

I try not to get too mad at the internet but this woman makes me want to smack the smile off her face with a cast iron skillet... I can understand the motivation for a person to induce or exaggerate illness in themselves. Really, I get it. I understand how it happens. I cannot think of a mother sickening her children and stuffing them with medications, getting them treatments they don't need and surgeries that could kill them, and understand how she gets to that point. Everyone has a touch of "meh, if it kills me it kills me" when it comes to themselves–you go to the beach and decide not to put on sunscreen because what's one little sunburn gonna do? But if your child was at the beach they'd be in a long sleeve rash guard, a giant hat, slathered in zinc oxide. You don't fasten your seatbelt to run to the convenience store but you sure as hell make sure the kid is securely fastened in its car seat before you even turn the key in the ignition. I cannot figure out what makes that protective instinct switch off. And not just in little skip-the-sunscreen ways but in "smother him with a pillow so it looks like he stopped breathing"/"spike his tiny body full of insulin"/"get him on a bunch of drugs that have terrible possible consequences" ways. I know the goal they're after. I just don't know how you get to that point where you're deliberately harming and exploiting your child for attention.

Jenn Wohlenberg is a MBP horror-mom living in the Greater LA area with her husband and three adult daughters. She is sometimes discussed in the Susan Schofield-Cabana thread, but not in much detail. ICYMI the Schofields are a wholly depressing psychiatric MBP case where bipolar parents and later a likely sexual predator stepparent abused and trained their children to act “psychotic,” doctor shopped to get schizophrenia dx’s, and then chemically lobotomized their kids over a decade. Older child Jani (17) could barely write her name and Bodhi (11) was practically non-verbal when CPS swooped in and took them away in February after Dr. Phil got involved. Now the kids are in foster/group home care and mostly off their meds. Jani no longer believes she ever had schizophrenia and refuses to see her mother.

Jenn was friends with the Schofields and used to claim her two older daughters, Brenna and Ailish, had severe psychiatric conditions including childhood onset schizophrenia. Here’s an article from 2010 describing the girls’ mental illnesses. Brenna was sent to residential treatment around this time and later to the Devereaux Cleo Wallace facility. Ailish allegedly tried to kill herself when she was six. She, too, was sent to residential treatment in her teens.

This video from 2010 shows two children who were trained from birth to act crazy so mom could have attention as the suffering caregiver of two mentally disturbed kids. Unfortunately in the wake of Jani and Bodhi being pulled from their parents, a lot of the videos of other children in their orbit were removed and this is the only video I could find of them.

Jenn has since completely dropped any psych claims, purged her blog, and has moved on to physical ailments. Now she includes youngest daughter Keiran in the fun. The girls' health declines coincided with them graduating high school and becoming adults. All three kids are on disability and conditioned to believe they're too disabled to do anything with their lives. They have no practical skills and are completely dependent on Mom.

Jenn also claims to have a mile-long list of health complications herself, mainly lupus but also myasthenia gravis, Sjogren. Raynauds, migraines, and fibromyalgia, amongst others.

According to insiders, after that Gypsy Rose Blanchard show "The Act," Ailish began to believe her mother had MBP and she was not actually sick. She stopped playing along and subsequently mom stopped talking to/about her. I don’t know how true this is and Jenn’s bio still says she has three chronic adult kids.

Brenna is a genderspecial who goes by Noah and they/them pronouns as of 2015. Kieran briefly decided she wanted to be called Celiene but apparently it didn’t stick.

Jenn’s whole insta was boring suburban mom stuff for a year or more - pancake breakfasts, swim meets, running, recipes, vacations. Suddenly in August 2013, she's got IV lines in and is tagging #lupus and #lupussucks.

Looks like all of them are NEETs now and very little is on the horizon for them except more tests and unnecessary procedures. I don't know if this is a case where there's a grain of truth in the claims but they're blown out of proportion, or if Jenn is spiking their infusions to make them sick, or just plain old conditioning them to act a certain way until it becomes psychosomatic. Also can't confirm Ailish has really accused her mother of MBP. There was actually a vaccine against Lyme - it got zapped because the antivax lot really campaigned against it. I haven't seen the safety data though so can’t say if that was justified

Testing for it is really difficult- false positive and negative rates are quite high. As I’m sure you do, just check your pup and yourself daily and take off any that have bitten as soon as you can.

Back to our munchies: post Lyme syndrome is a thing, but it’s easily munchable because it isn’t easy to test for. No reputable doc will diagnose chronic Lyme though and anyone who is on long term antibiotics through iv is playing with fire, and likely munching.

That's interesting about the vaccines. I've noticed that a lot of the chronic lymees with the morgellins crowd are also anti vaxers. It fits better into their ((they)) are poisoning us narrative.

## = percentage of particulate matter 2.5 the mask can filter (smoke, fine dust, etc, which are less than 2.5 micrometers in diameter)

So an n95 can filter out 95% of PM2.5 that isn't oil-based.
Cambridge are n99, vog are n95. Difference? Negligible in the long run since they're so expensive people don't replace them nearly as often as they should and the rating degrades over time as the filter is saturated and/or breaks down. They'd be better off getting a pack of n100 disposables and changing them out daily, but those don't come in pink floral prints.

Oh and none of them are fine enough to filter out viruses no matter what it they claim. What they can do is catch the microdroplets of sneezed and coughed moisture that the sick person has expelled with the flu virus clinging to them and prevent them from reaching your lungs. But you don't need an n99 for that; an n95 will do the job just fine. So will tying a bandana over your face, for that matter.

What Storm Trooper has up there is an organic vapor/acid gas combo cartridge in a half-face respirator. The cartridge has two components: an activated carbon cartridge to absorb odors and a p100 filter and it's just about as strong a mask as you can get without having to wear a positive pressure mask (which is more like a diving helmet, goes over your whole face and hooks up to a canister to supply clean air to you; because air pressure is greater under the mask than outside it, if the seal is broken around the edge of the mask the clean air leaks out and keeps the outside air from getting in). The problems are 1) she's probably not coming into contact with too much oil-based particulate matter since she doesn't walk around refineries or stick her face in exhaust pipes. 2) those cartridges are expensive and she is most likely not replacing them often.

I will give her credit in that they eliminate odors way better than any disposable or cloth is going to, as long as you're replacing the cartridges before the carbon is totally spent. It's totally fucking overkill for a woman who appears to not leave her apartment very often, but if she's so "chemical sensitive" that she's convinced herself even smelling certain things will trigger some kind of attack, then the combo cart she's got is honestly her best bet. The cartridge has two components: an activated carbon cartridge to absorb odors and a p100 filter and it's just about as strong a mask as you can get without having to wear a positive pressure mask (which is more like a diving helmet, goes over your whole face and hooks up to a canister to supply clean air to you; because air pressure is greater under the mask than outside it, if the seal is broken around the edge of the mask the clean air leaks out and keeps the outside air from getting in). The problems are 1) she's probably not coming into contact with too much oil-based particulate matter since she doesn't walk around refineries or stick her face in exhaust pipes. 2) those cartridges are expensive and she is most likely not replacing them often.

I will give her credit in that they eliminate odors way better than any disposable or cloth is going to, as long as you're replacing the cartridges before the carbon is totally spent. It's totally fucking overkill for a woman who appears to not leave her apartment very often, but if she's so "chemical sensitive" that she's convinced herself even smelling certain things will trigger some kind of attack, then the combo cart she's got is honestly her best bet. I mean other than therapy and antipsychotics.

Further, these makes don't seal properly around the nose and chin. To professionally wear an N95, you need to be fit tested and have them tight around your nose and chin and they come in different sizes for that reason.

Further, reusable masks make no sense because you're filtering stuff out, so it's on the outside of the mask, then you take it off and you're throwing it in your bag for all the stuff you filtered out to get all over your belongings in your bag?

I just looked around on the Cambridge mask website and it seems like they market towards people exposed to air pollution, as well as "travelers, cyclists, urban residents, and respiratory disease sufferers." They also claim to be able to tailor fit with nose clips and "toggles" (whatever the heck those are), which means it just gives the illusion of fit. Those things leak air all over.

I think munchies saw a shiny toy that comes in pretty colors that screams "I GOT AN ILLNESS PAY ATTENTION TO ME," so they became like the munchie equivalent of 90s butterfly hair clips.

The athlete thing seems like a load of crap. I've never seen a single distance runner with a mask on. Anyone with a brain knows that you don't train in high-pollution areas and you keep your asthma under control with run-of-the-mill albuterol pre-treatment. A couple puffs and you're good to go for a couple hours. No big deal.

Back to our munchies: post Lyme syndrome is a thing, but it’s easily munchable because it isn’t easy to test for. No reputable doc will diagnose chronic Lyme though and anyone who is on long term antibiotics through iv is playing with fire, and likely munching.

What about "Neuro-lyme"? Is it a separate thing or just people OTTing the complications of bog standard Lyme?

Systemic candidiasis is a thing - for a select few unlucky people. Woo shillers and naturopaths will tell you that you have it whatever symptoms you're complaining of, and that their expensive protocol and stopping all your meds will cure it - but in reality everyone has some candida and other flora on their body. Systemic candidiasis is, as you'd guess, a multi-systemic infection (rather than localised like a yeast infection) and rarely ever seen outside of severely immunocompromised patients like those with AIDS or on chemotherapy.
