Actually if anything the art has gotten worse. It looks like it improved because Billy's been adding less "detail lines".

I dunno. The characters have gradually evolved (transitioned, even?) from colorful mashed potatoes to lumpen, but intact, potatoes. If I were to compare him to an artist of average talent who puts in a little practice every day, then I would guesstimate that Labill has made about 4-6 months worth of improvement in the last 4 years. This puts him significantly ahead of Chris Chan yet far behind most humans with a functioning brain and hands.

I love how Billy is just retconning the Aidan strips out completely now since she can't even think of a way to rewrite them to make Aidan look like someone you're not supposed to agree with.
