I think Heidi is just trying too hard to please too many people at once.
It was obviously an issue in the marriage, but it's still happening now with her trying not to hurt the feelings of people that aren't Holly and Jared, but were also involved.
Like, I get keeping people's privacy, but it seems like she's tiptoeing around a few things with all these tweets and leaving it up for interpretation.

Wrong on the first point, Heidi and Jared were dating before he really broke out into youtube or anything. She's not an ascended fan that got lucky after she got big, she's been there before it happened. So this isn't a case jilted fangirl, but more a college/first real romance that's passed it's sell by date.

He wasn't huge but he still had a presence, and was already working for ScrewAttack when they met. He was involved at SGC and was also running Game Attack, ScrewAttack's game store. Not quite an unknown. She has even admitted that she intentionally went to the tournament where they met just to meet him, because he happened to be there with the ScrewAttack crew (I think they sponsored it?), joking that she doesn't even play fighting games and how badly she lost, but how she still "won" by getting with Jared. He wasn't "1 million subscribers big" but he wasn't unknown either, and the way she's told the story makes her sound like a fangirl first.

Where is your proof for this claim about Heidi being a fangirl? All this proved is that Jared had a minor presence as a spokesperson. And all Heidi stated was she didn’t get with Jared for his big YouTube bucks. I highly doubt being a minor spokesman for a ‘this week in gaming’ made much money.

Edit: forget all that I asked. That Q&A someone linked up top pretty much proved she was at least a low key fangirl stalker. She talked about how she lurked Jared’s online persona for six months to get close to him. Wow

Video is from August 2016, when she says they've been together over 5 years and married for 2. If I'm remembering the timeline correctly, that means they developed marital problems and went poly around 3.5 years into the marriage?

That's pretty quick, especially when they had a 3 year relationship before the wedding. If going poly was a last ditch repair effort, that means the trouble started even earlier, which makes you wonder how self-unaware they were getting into the marriage in the first place.

(And if poly wasn't a last resort but an early attempt they actually thought would work, that makes everyone involved even more exceptional.)
