I wonder if Andi Khouri (the guy who got Zoe her job at Vertigo) is panicking and begging Zoe to start up a new controversy to try and juice sales/create a climate of pity to make DC renew the book for another six issues.

The only thing that Zoe can say for herself is that (for the most part), she's kept her head down and that all of the big scandals at Nu-Vertigo involve the other titles and her collaborator. I can totally see Khouri probably arguing that as a defense to keep Zoe's book being published. IE she's not done anything bad, so her garbage sales should be ignored and her book still being published.

It seems to me like DC is doing what needs to be done at Marvel, too. Get rid of the deadwood, keep whatever isn't pure cancer, and start over.

Andi will probably just head back to Huffington Post. Myspace is dead so he can't go back there, though he could maybe get a job at Facebook if he does it on the down low due to their current public image.

Though he's moving to Los Angeles in November 2019 apparently so probably has a job there.
 
Ok so now that it looks like her "comic career" as such is coming to a well deserved end (please be true) What's the bet on her next act of self indulgent hype? Model for inflatable fat sex doll? On another note I didn't see it in the discussion but what is the possible take home for her for this craptacular comic anyway?

Probably nothing that substantial. She isn't doing it for the money itself but for the credibility she can use for her other hustles and scams as a now "established" comic book writer, as little as that really is worth.

According to one retailer who attended a retailer-only conference with DC, most of the cuts have already happened with the Metal spin-offs being the biggest casualties and a couple of additional mainline books going away in the next couple of months (the biggest being Titans, which got fucked over by Geoff banning Doomsday Clock tie-ins and Metal/Heroes In Crisis and Tom King in general putting the final nail in the coffin).

Also, Andi's Kelly Sue DeConnick's purse puppy editor and finalized bringing Matt Fraction to DC. Which probably buys him additional time from being fired for his gross incompetence, even if his Nu-Vertigo failing miserably and in humiliating fashion.

I think someone explained when she was signed that she would have gotten an upfront payment regardless of what it sold, but that if it tanked she'd simply never be signed again. iirc her contribution would have been completed long ago, so besides her name going on the books she's delivered what she was paid for by this point, so it'd likely be a matter of just never hiring her again.

A bit off-topic, but did everyone from the Comics Alliance site turn out to be massive speds? I know I only read Chris Sims' stuff because everyone else seemed massively exceptional, but then he might have crashed and burned as well...

I know that one of them frequently e-begs for sandwich money. Although I haven't kept up with him for good while, so maybe he got better. (I doubt it)

She already took a test run at that with the dogshit expansion to the dogshit Betrayal at House on the Hill. Curiously it ties in vaguely with the rest of her underwhelming-at-best oeuvre as it was just a shitty writing gig really.
