Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Do you want to take on Mickey's lawyers? They are almost as fierce as GW's ones, unless you live in the east.
The good thing about Star Wars' derivative nature is that you can point to almost everything in it that isn't a noun or proper noun as being ripped off from something else. "Galactic Empire" comes from Asimov's Foundation. Jedi comes from jidai-geki. And Jabba the Hutt of course was inspired by president William Howard Taft.

I'm surprised they didn't make Obi Wan look like shit, since Sir Alec Guinness isn't alive anymore.
I read somewhere about a NEU short story that featured Obi Wan's final moments. Just as he was struck down by Vader, he had a vision that showed him everything that would happen since, including the rise of the First Order and Luke's utter fuckup that created Kylo Ren. With the knowledge that everything Luke and his friends fight for will be for naught, Obi Wan just goes with the flow and keeps it to himself.

They couldn't even have the decency to not make Obi Wan a jackass as well. All to prop up their own characters.

That makes virtually no sense. Wouldn’t Obi Wan warm Luke on how to act around Kylo if that shit was possible?! Then again Nu-Star Wars writers have the mentality of pseudo intellectual 13 year olds who think they’re much deeper than they are.

So why didn't Obi-Wan tell Luke not to unfreeze Han?

It's the literal definition of "kicking someone while they're down."
I'm not even mad or anything... I'm just really, really confused. What is this supposed to achieve?
I guess there are going to be some idiots who will like this, but overall? It's such a nonsensical and stupid thing to do.

Since Ford isn't involved in Star Wars nearly as much as Hamil is, they can kick the shit out of Han with a lot less protest than they can Luke. I'm surprised they didn't make Obi Wan look like shit, since Sir Alec Guinness isn't alive anymore. So yeah, as the original cast starts to drop off, their characters will be twisted and destroyed as much as possible (as long as they're male).

Well, Han gets humiliated over and over, but the character assassination done to Luke is worse still.
He's not just some loser who gets humiliated, his character is being turned into the anti-thesis of everything he should be standing for.
He turned from being a universal, heroic and hopeful role model to a grumpy bastard who planned to kill off his own nephew in his sleep.
Even having the Falcon be stolen by some random shitstain nobody is not as bad as this.

Leia would have stolen his frozen swimmers! As a stronk womans.

We're talking about Disney, if Kylo had been the canonical son of Han and Leia in the OT, by now they would have revealed that in truth, Han isn't his father and Leia cucked him with some numbnut, most likely Chuck Wendig's self-insert.
Similarly, in the case of what you describe, she'd just have pretended to use Han's sperm and cucked carbo-frozen Han with someone else.

It made the Enron Run in twelve financial quarters

What if everything Lucas has done since 1997 has been one long term troll operation?

We can conclude the following:

  1. Horn got a lot of heat from Iger about the state of things at Lucasfilm. Shit rolls downhill. Or something.

  2. Horn is micromanaging KK and JJ. This is humiliating because it means there is no trust that they can do the job right. I would personally be enraged if someone outside the production was sending weekly notes about how to do my job.

  3. The pressure inside Lucasfilm must be insane. We also know that Kiri Hart left. She was either booted, or saw which way the wind is blowing.
Oh, to be the flies on the walls of Lucasfilm right now listening to all the chaos and drama unfold.

Disney is stepping in to micromanage episode 9. They are freaking putting KK on a very tight leash to prevent another Last Jedi or Solo. It's a sad, sad day when I am cheering for executive meddling, but here we are.

Meddling by the suits usually makes a game or movie be played "more safe", so I guess it'll mean more derivative in this case.
If this news is to be trusted, it further illustrates that Disney lost confidence in the brand.
