Didn't they say at one point that Rickie had been in a huge fucking car wreck? He has scars down his shoulders and shit, plus that fucked up tooth. I'm willing to bet he was shredded in that accident and came out of it with some cognitive issues (especially considering the type of medical care he would have access to in Kentucky).
