I think it was that he got an audience with his game reviews, so he just kept doing it hoping it would turn into something more.

What he lacks is any kind of self-interrogation or self-development. He never realized that over the long term you have to refine your craft and be constantly improving your output and constantly pitching to new outlets and then constantly doing self assessments about what worked, what didn’t, and what went wrong when it comes to your goals.

I think Jake genuinely thinks that his spiel is interesting, because he is a person who has nothing going on IRL, and his most recent 'big' internet presence was while he was part of CON, I think he's furiously and relentlessly rubbing that rusted old lamp, desperately trying to bring back the genie that will publish his writings, push his makeshift insulation games and thus make him able to afford HRT.

Now what Jake still doesn't understand is that CON didn't recruit him because he was a pretend tranny (because regular ol' male autists like IMC, Izzy Galvez and Rob Marmolejo got in just fine), nor because of the quality of his writings (because almost none of them hired him to write anything of note). Way to sidestep the question. Why would you need to carry around a 15 year old driver's licence? Twitter's not going to stop you on the street and ask for your ID. If you've changed your name legally at any point you need to keep those documents and have them accessible because a lot of bureaucracies (especially government ones) require you to provide proof of both your original and your current identity.

I'm inclined to agree, and I also wonder if the increased tone of desperation in his recent tweetstorms is the result of the fallout of that revelation.
