I've noticed a surprising amount of furry trannies whose fursonas are red. Like, 90% of them are red. Not purple, not pink, not any of those other stereotypical "dangerhair" colors, but red. Why is that?

Okay, coming back to this post because as embarrassing as this sounds, I guess I am genuinely what you'd call "Mad on the Internet" over this.

This jackass has apparently been around since 1995. Long enough to remember when this fandom/community was just a blip in the world of comic books. He directly points this out. I know he's doing it to establish some sort of autistic personal cred (hell I did the same thing here) but I am genuinely offended at how he just trots out this little vignette only to discard it like it's not important at all. "How quaint, but welcome to [CURRENT YEAR]". There are a lot of people whose history with this community hearken back to these days and what this convention organizer has done is just spit on that era and everyone who cherishes it so much. Fuck off.

Anyways I'm going to go take a drink from my Official Kiwi Farms™ Shot Glass now.

I don't get why people act like these conventions are somehow public fixtures like a public school that is required to stay neutral rather than private enterprises that can be run nearly however the people running them want

no matter what socialists and commies want, whoever holds the checkbook is the one who calls the shots. And that does include deciding whether or not to involve anything political. whether or not it's a good decision doesn't matter.

if people are offended they can sell their tickets and start their own con, even europe is still capitalistic enough for people to do that. if there aren't enough people who give a fuck about badge ribbons and opinions then tough titty, that's capitalism

The problem is that they see that furry is starting to become more mainstream, yes the number of fandom members gets bigger every year and the whole distinction between "fandom" and "community.

New blood is coming in with the old getting it's shit kicked in for past offenses. The new ones coming in looks at the whole message of the furry community as "Acceptance for all branches of furry" as their calling card to be in a space they can feel accepted in when no one else in society wants their ass, furry has become the new safe space despite most of the old blood's feelings towards it.

Furries can try to break off and do their own thing if they don't want politics, but the more vocally political furries will start up a storm and lie about them saying they don't care if gays are getting killed, un-accepting of transgender, and anything under their scope of standards to make a new and upcoming con politically free look like shit until no one can support it due to social pressures and judgement that will likely put anyone that runs it or attends it on a lot of people's shit list. It's a risk many cannot take to fight back in the fandom's current state, cause if you ask me, furry lost it's apolitical status when Dragoneer caved to these demands from the left.

Now furries want to promote family friendly stuff even though they know they are sexual deviants no matter what wake of era they are from, sexually active or no being sexually active with a fetish being the only way they'd rather get their rocks off too. The only way they'd be able to shake off PC from their "community" is if the far left gets into a civil war and ends up getting kicked back into the shadows it crawled out of or when more people wake up and see the shit their spout really isn't helping the situation.
