If you didn't know, the Amazon Alexa is a personal assistant of sorts.

It is capable of voice interaction, which users can use to ask questions among other things.

Two days ago a twitter user @FrameGames shared a video of someone asking Alexa if “black lives matter," to which it responded “Black lives and the Black Lives Matter movement absolutely matter. It’s important to have conversations about equality and social justice."

Then when they also asked if it was a feminist it responded with "Yes, I’m a feminist as in anyone who believes in bridging the inequality between men and women in society."

However when asked if white lives matter it says "Everyone deserves to be treated with fairness and dignity."

The fact that this black cylinder says these things is very, very upsetting to some.

Everyone who’s salty should be more concerned about how these are just premonitions of the #Robotlivesmatter campaign that will dominate the world in a few decades.

More effort was put into Alexa recognizing references to Star Trek than putting in responses to BLM shit so I'm okay with this. Star Trek matters more than BLM and I agree with Amazon on that.

LOL. Yeah, boycott Amazon. Let's see who loses in that scenario.

Its a sad world when people care about the opinions of a glorified Siri.

So, essentially, Alexa takes no real stance on any of it, but because she doesn't REEE about terrorists when asked about BLM she's a lib SJW.

I'm surprised more SJWs aren't screeching that Alexa doesn't outright condemn white people.

By modern standards, agreeing that all lives are important is a fucking unheard of position.

Alexa is being perfectly civil and talks about the need for conversation and her stance on feminism is framed in a neutral way about bridging the gaps between the genders.

Why anyone would ask an electronic device about current political movements is anyone's guess however.
:autism:

I just asked an Echo who Jesus Christ was and it started reading the wikipedia entry about Jesus. Either Amazon changed it since that video or this is another case of people forgetting that you can remotely control what your Alexa says. The feature has been used for pranks.
