I'm actually upset over the monitor breaking. He still might be able to stream something from his laptop or with a second monitor by next week, but I'm worried he might stop taking calls or cut Fact Zone out entirely.

I mean, that would be the SMART decision. But not the most entertaining at all. Hoping he still wants the spotlight badly enough to keep taking calls, I couldn't get through this week with my dating question.

That bit where he said Stryker, Ramirez et. al were his friends was a standout portion for me as well.

I don't recall an exact quote but what he was saying was basically "You all say I have no friends, but when I'm off my meds I have my imaginary friends."

It's a bizarre mix of delusion with flashes of an odd clarity, it's so weird to hear.

Well, technically the "Holy Roman Empire" was neither Roman nor much of an Empire, and far from Holy, but I'm reasonably certain that's not what Jace meant.

But yeah, it's getting difficult to tell the crazy from the merely stupid with Jace, though the fictional headmates thing is definitely on the crazy side of the fence. Then there's the whole thing about not needing friends because all he has to do is smoke up and stop taking his meds…

I know what you mean. It's just been ramping up, too, and the craziest part is that 90% of these are his own ideas. They stop taking their meds and self-medicate with their own drugs because the amplified auditory hallucinations mixed with the high makes them no longer feel alone. The thing is that we've never seen anything to suggest Jace straight up hears voices until today. Prior to this it was just bumps in the night. Today he started talking about his paranoia and belief that people are following him and mumbling things in another language. It seems like a big jump. So.. I have no fucking idea what is going on. Just that he should probably be on his meds.

He has a weird relationship with games that blurs the line of reality/fantasy. He seems to believe real life marine stuff is like a video game and vice versa. Even in his "realistic war novel", that last chapter describes a boss fight from a video game. A boss fight that could only exist if a 15 year old boy was given full creative control over a video game, but a boss fight nonetheless.
