Thats so kino. The entitlement is hilarious. HEY WHY ARE YOU LETTING THE AMERICAN CUT IN LINE, DON'T YOU KNOW I'M EUROPEAN!
We've become so used to losing that we think a couple politicians impotently posting some "based" tweets online is somehow the pendulum shifting and all our problems accumulated over the last century becoming undone.
This reminds me so much of the ideological lens so many people have.
Socialists want healthcare, and capitalists want money, yadda yadda yadda.
Meanwhile every politician is just a manager trying to maintain power.
So is winning...a revolution? Is it an internal purge where we put people in concentration camps?
Is it seizing the means of reproduction? getting everyone to finally agree on something?
What actually is winning in 2026?
The reason it reminds me so much of ideology is something I picked up watching Adam Curtis documentaries. The essential idea is no one has any new ideas, no one a vision of the future, and no one has an alternative to the current "system".
So when Trump does anything, it doesn't fit the dream goal, even though that dream goal is simply intangible and not real at all.
For example, I knew and most people in their guts also probably knew that the Supreme Court was not going to rule correctly on birthright citizenship. It rightfully pissed me off. Because they basically just decided to cover their own ass, and not upset the apple cart.
Do you realize what I am saying? It's that corny quote from The Matrix
“The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.
So what is winning to you, then? What does it actually look like. What is it that is "supposed to happen"? Because anyone could tell you that corruption is going to happen regardless while we split hairs and get frustrated at there not being TND or something.
