USUS Politics General 2: Hope Edition - Discussion of President Trump and other politicians
The key here, I think, is that it's not publicly traded. Shareholding destroys companies. It did fine during infinite growth when we quadrupled the world population, but as we reach the end of that, it is the albatross around the economy.
The company can't just be profitable, they are forced to grow infinitely. And for the last 30 years we've seen the damage of that. Microsoft burning billions on buying developers and Gamepass number? Makes line go up. Off shoring production in the 90s? Gained them just 8-10%. Our future stripped away and money pouring into another country but line goes up. The governments not going to stop it, that growth is required for the easy selfish twilight years promised to the boomers.
Now I'm still Positive Polyboros. I don't think it's all going to fall apart in a in an apocalypse scenario as people love to fantasize about. There will be a period in the next decade where there will be turbulence, I think some of the stuff Trump's doing is actually in preparation for it, but life will go on, slop will continue to be sold, and if we are really lucky, we will return to more true capitalism with companies working for themselves and not a bunch of people holding sheets of paper, while the stock market continues on more a kin to high roller gambling than garenteed free money.
The problem isn't shareholding per se, it's that the 401(k) completely shifted economic incentives away from dividends and into share price. You accrue the tax advantages by living off the sale of the stock, not by the dividends. But this then means the stock is only any good if its price goes up after I buy it. I don't really care about the dividend at all, only the share price. Profits barely even matter any more. Dividends have given way to stock buybacks. Add into that low interest rates destroying bonds as a source of income, and the entire economy is a giant casino. It wouldn't be conceptually hard to fix, but there are too many vested interests who will not allow the system to change.

If there was a way to filter out those that bought stocks just to completely tank the company and still make money, there might be a way for these more public companies to bounce back, and for a more natural growth/shrinkage to happen.
Might not be the easiest thing to pull off, but when has America ever done just easy things?
Besides whatever the fuck the Boomers did.

People will still take those jobs. But employers need to give incentives to do those shitty shifts, because those shifts are fucking DOGSHIT. Hiring a jeet and being a traitor should be grounds for execution. Give incentives or lose your business.
Then prepare to pay more for everything you buy that isn't online. Payroll is the biggest controllable expense. If you increase it then you either charge more or operate at a loss.
And the benefit was getting paid 5 bucks an hour. The fact that you can go McDonald's or walmart to get sick time, matching 401k contributions and more is absurd in a way.
While I think every generation default thinks they have it the hardest. I am more than happy to pass the torch to the Zoomer Alpha Generation. Anyone who got caught in school during the covid shutdowns is fucked. Year less of school, as if the entire graduating class got held back a year and never got to make up. Even worse is the other students, who all got a year to learn literally nothing but fuck around on Tiktok. Then had to go back to school.
So when I say they will have it the hardest, I dont mean the job market, inflation, or opportunities. I mean these kids are going to literally be more stupid than most other generations. Like it will be a struggle to come to work, with a uniform on, and focus on a task (because everyone decided a 9 year old will be able to sit at home, on a zoom call, and learn anything. )That it wouldn't be a complete waste of time. Side note, e-learning days are now a norm for students, so kids collectively go to school less, and get free days to fuck around online for no reason.
FILTHY FOREIGNERS FORCE FECAL FOODS ONTO FURIOUS FAMILIES
Hm. So, Michigan having a significant uptick in a parasitic infection that leads to you shitting yourself to death, in the south-east of the state? Well, let's learn more about this! How exactly does this parasite work?
A food poisoning parasite that lives in human feces, and is primarily located in tropical, and subtropical regions... Oh no.
So, what I get from this is, it's being spread by people in Southeastern Michigan, from tropical and subtropical regions originally, who have human feces on their hands for weeks at a time, and are spreading it by touching vegetables in places like supermarkets and gas station produce areas. I encourage you to take a guess yourself before I reveal to you who the most likely culprit for this Shit-Yourself-To-Death Disease spreading might be.
Surprising no one at all... It is, of course, Indians.
This parasite is endemic in India, meaning that it is utterly and completely unstoppably present everywhere in Indian society, and there is absolutely nothing to do to stop it.
Remember how it was all happening in Southeast Michigan? Well let's look at where the Indians who live in Michigan live.
"Okay, but MetokurGroomedMe, I don't live in Michigan, I don't know where those places are!" Allow me to show you.
Well well well. Would you look at that. The highest concentration of Indians in Michigan is as far southeast as you can get, literally riding the detroit border to Ohio, all the way out to Ann Arbor.
They won't say it, but we all know exactly what this means. It is Indians not wiping their asses, not washing their hands, wiping their asses WITH their hands, and touching foodstuffs that is causing an outbreak of an endemic-to-India parasite known to spread through Indian behavior, in a part of the country that has a high density of Indians.
You truly do not hate any of these people, be they Indians or the shitlibs who import them, or the journos who mislead you about them, enough. You can NEVER hate them enough. Keep trying though.

Now they're going to college and not learning anything because they just use ChatGPT to do their homework. Back when I was in school, you had to pay someone good money to do it and not get caught.
You sweet summer child. Rules for thee and not for me applies here. The Supreme Court just ruled this "country" is an economic zone and not a country at all. You really think they are going to let a little thing like place of birth stop them? We already had a president who wasn't born here.

A guy on my hall skipped an entire class and used AI bots for his homework and tests, even exploited the jeet lockdown software somehow. Got an A for it.

Someone made this point in the thread which talked about Karmelo Anthony, but imagine being on trial in 2050, and your "peers" which make up the jury are all Gen Alpha fully grown adults who can't read and have had their attention spans nuked because of TikTok and Instagram Reels.

There was this one girl in my economics class who scrolled through AO3 all day and when it came time to do a presentation she just used ChatGPT to do it, in the same class period the presentation was due.

I can't believe in 2026 people still think this matters. Biggest reason the right has lost for the last 70 years prior to Trump. The constitution is a piece of paper. The left does not believe what is written on it matters and that it is subject to change. The constitution says "shall not be infringed". Go try and buy a standard M4 Carbine now. Somehow "shall not be infringed" hasn't stopped people infringing on your right to bear arms. Imagine that.
The Supreme Court declined to stay a lower court order requiring a former Fox (now CBS) Journalist to pay $800 per day for noncompliance with an order requiring her to reveal her confidential source on a story.

School isn't useless. It's the "current year" educators who are. It so simple to teach people and teach them well that we've done it reliably for thousands of years. New technologies have never been this disruptive; not the PC, handheld calculator or even the smartphone. And that's because in the past we mitigated the methods that these could be used to disrupt the learning process. The educators of today have all the tools needed to adapt to the modern disruptions, but they choose to do nothing. >Math exam?
>No calculator, all written work and it's timed
>Book report?
>Shift to it having to be written in class, with only in school written materials as reference.
>Smartphone disruptions too frequent?
>Lock them in thick canvas bags when the children arrive to school. So they have it but cannot use it School also isn't meant to 100% prepare you for the real world and a job. It's giving you just enough so that you can be trained without too much issue and fill out forms/paperwork. Now our secondary schooling like college and trade school is a whole other discussion. But elementary/Middle/high schoolers should be a no brainer to fix. We just have deranged retards pretending to be educators who are dragging the entire system down.
