Its because the logic is bird shot won't penetrate walls and accidentally kill someone in an adjacent room. There's also a good chance it doesn't kill anyone at all which is worse.

At the distances you'll be using it in a home defense situation, all of the shot will still be together in the cup, making it barely different from a slug in terms of energy delivery. It's basically a frangible slug at any distance less than 15 feet.

There have been hundreds of hunting accidents where people were shot with bird shot from just a few feet away and survived. Human muscle and flesh stop bird shot easily. Dick cheney shot a man in the face with bird shot at 20 feet and the man lived.

The only downsides to 12ga, to me at least, is the blast and limited capacity. Firing full proper 9-12 pellet 00 inside is going to really wreck your hearing for life, and leave you totally deaf for minutes to hours. I'm wary of pump cause while it's fast you can short stroke or just screw it up easier under heavy stress. For ammo just go with.

Euros have usually made some of, if not, the best guns of anyone. Sadly they're too retarded to let their own use them. Also they have a real bad habit in the last dozen+ years of having all their good brands ruined (looking at you SIG!! and lately even Glock) by outsourcing to shoddier US made, or just trash places like Turkey (Beretta does this a lot). US made guns are usually either top of class or near bottom like Kel-tec.
