These people are like fucking kids. Can you really not help yourself but touch the Reflecting Pool? That's the most important way to express yourself right now? The story here isn't that the National Guard is watching it, the story is that a bunch of oversized toddlers are actively trying to get themselves arrested.

Considering AI data centers fuck over Blue hairs, Shitlibs and Indians more than anyone else, I'm not sure they are bad.
Exactly. Posting economically-illiterate anti-datacenter propaganda here is about as bright as posting #EndKiwiFarms. If the datacenters go away, so does this site, retards.

My issue is that they get tax breaks for minimal job creation while rising electrical costs, since they seem to like spamming them without also building their own power. Either get the tax breaks in exchange for building the plants to power them first, or don't.

Banning coffee yet allowing monster is just bullshitting.
(I don't drink monster because I think you're kinda right)

It's more about getting permission from the locals, which these companies haven't been doing. It has made everyone turn on NIMBY mode. There is also concern about shipping in jeets to man these places. Not much point of building a datacenter for jobs if all the jobs go to India

I'm anti-tax-break (for any industry). Being anti-datacenter, because datacenters sometimes receive tax breaks, is dumb.

Farms receive way more tax breaks than datacenters do, and create few jobs (especially relative to the amount of land consumed). Are the anti-tax-break crowd also anti-farm?

Factories spike utility prices for the locals while lowering manufacturing costs for corporations.

Farms spike water costs for the locals while lowering food supply costs for corporations.

Are those also scams? Should we ban them here to further increase our dependence on China?
Factories tend to employ more than 10 people. They raise utility prices while also paying salaries to the people in the surrounding area so the community benefits.

Farms are not that big of a burden on communities and like factories they provide utility to the surrounding area. Farms are economically the lowest return on value for land usage, economist would rather have factories or a sub-burb or ideally a city in those places but humans need food to survive.

Data centers don't provide a meaningful number of jobs. They tend to out-source the few jobs to H1B slaves who don't contribute much to the nearby communities, they don't provide a service to those communities and they use tons of water and electricity and unlike farms the water used doesn't produce something us humans need to survive.

We also have plenty of data centers as it is but instead of trying to be more productive with the current supply billionaires are begging tax-payers for loans to build more.

The farm is not drastically rising the costs of electricity bills for residents in the area.

T-Boogie literally went out to the reflecting pool on Sea-Doo 1 and saw the vandalism firsthand:

And I bet you 10 frens coins that the baby duck that "died" from the pool was killed and placed there, hydrogen peroxide in that vast amount of water isn't killing animals like that.

No country, not even the US, has a power grid and electrical infrastructure that can power the amount of AI data centers planned. Though, if these multibillion dollar companies insist on using publicly used electrical grids for this, they should eat the cost of any grid upgrades. Absolutely tired of tax money being used to prop up these companies. They need to put their money where their mouth is and have way more financial risk involved in doing this, and not get government bailouts if they fail.

Ban H1Bs, not datacenters. The claims around water usage are 100% false, and there have been recent studies that show that in places with a working electricity market, increased demand (from factories, datacenters, or whatever) mostly causes utility rates to go down, especially as industrial demand tends to be less spiky workloads than residential so it's cheaper to build out.

We also have plenty of data centers as it is but instead of trying to be more productive with the current supply billionaires are begging tax-payers for loans to build more.
The market says otherwise. We don't do central economic planning here, commie.

I had it member-only, then I read this and decided I should make it slightly harder for troons to dox me.

I don’t know where this stereotype of inbred southerners came from, but it’s completely made up and sounds like brown cope. I choose never to make that joke anymore. If there is such a thing as blood libel, then it is probably when people lie about white consanguinity.
There's a lot of bullshit that people believe because they heard it from shitty comedians or cartoons full of dirty jokes. Hell, an entire American generation's definition of cynicism was based around bitter boomer liberals and their resentment over the country outgrowing their social activism back in the 1980s.

I just realized, trying to have a gigantic water feature that's clean and perfectly untouched by aquatic life is fundamentally retarded
They should just scrap it and put all those statues that the leftists hated right there in the way you said.
It's been a mess for 100+ years now and was never well done.
Make it a statue garden with flowers and flora that can be donated by world leaders.
Nobody even cares about this pool anyway.
But even more so, people who work and live in DC deserve nothing.
