They never owned the CA house. That was owned by Jack's step-father. The Hendersonville house made sense since Tammy makes OK money, Jack's channel was still reasonably profitable in 2014 and houses in suburban Nashville were relatively cheap. But the Greenbrier move and house build make no sense. When they moved, Jack had talked about hoping Trump would get elected and cause the interest rates to drop back down so they could refinance. There's also speculation that Tammy's parents are helping them out.

Yes, Carolyn is Tammy's mother. She claims to have been scammed by a gold IRA, but it's hard to tell what exactly happened.
I know Tammy's parents are obviously helping out. Point is, Fatty has lived in 4 houses over the past 20 years, only one of which maybe he'd know nothing about since he or Tammy wasn't the owner, but has somehow as a grown adult paid zero attention to basically anything regarding houses, mortgages, interest rates, etc. Even with Tammy's parents footing the bill this entire time, a normal human being would have picked up on something over the years.

They could have moved into a sensible ranch house and it would have made more sense. Leaving Hendersonville with the equity they likely had in the house was a dumb move. Now they are most certainly upside down on the Green Brier home. It’s hard to know for sure. Qarolyn could be bailing out Tammy and Jack while Tammy and Jack bail out the JR’s. Qarolyn also has her home on the market for like 1.5 million and moved into another frankenmansion on the property (she had a few acres) it looks horrible from the pictures.
Also I just wanted to point out, Jack technically isn’t a boomer. He’s Gen X. If you call him a boomer he gets super pissed even though he spends a great deal of time calling out people in the #Under30Club in his comments.

Bitches about medical fraud when he skips out on paying hospital bills which without their service he would have died AT MINIMUM five times. I always found his Fats on the Go less interesting than him botching cooking, especially recently when it became pretty clear he was just using them as excuses to eat out at the same fucking fast food places that he always does. It's interesting when he has little tantrums like the Jack in The box tiny tacos, or when he went back during a tornado warning because no bacon on his burger. But it usually is a worthless review unless he gets angy.
