There’s a lot of arguing about what in the show is fetish content, but I don’t think the amount of it is the worst part. What I find most disgusting about him is that he’s self-aware about. He claimed that the fetish belonged to his gay boyfriend, which might actually be true considering he never put it in his show to by knowledge. Alternatively, he might have so many fetishes that he couldn’t fit all of them in, or he couldn’t find a way to make it subtle. Regardless of the reason, drill jokes are still funny.

I think some more likely reasons the accusations were buried were that the original French-only callout was deleted and outside of being the French Gangle VA, Mathilde "Rune" Carmes / MadStalker is seemingly unknown in the Anglosphere (although I don't follow French stuff that closely, I just know about her because of some French rap battle thing that I mentioned in my post)

Late and gay, but do we know who picked out the French voice actors? Assuming they’re also French, there’s still not much excuse for her hiring.

The thing re: this entire "is this a fetish" conversation is we just can't be sure. It could be a bubble popping fetish, it could be an annoying character (that happens to be a bubble) being popped so he'll shut up and go away. Maybe it's a gag in some scenes and a fetish in another scene. Maybe it started as a gag and became a fetish. You can't know the actual intentions of the artists working on the show, so why do we need to spend a hundred posts going back and forth on whether or not we think it's intentionally a fetish or not? Nobody's ever gonna come out and stipulate what exactly was a fetish and what wasn't, so trying to discern it is just irrelevant.
I'm calling this a case of Schrodinger's Pervert: Everything is simultaneously a fetish and not a fetish until confirmed by the creator (assuming you can trust him anyway.)
I think the more important thing to focus on is whether or not it's actually harming people or ruining the story with its inclusion. For what it's worth, EVERYTHING in TADC can be a fetish. Caine's got shiny black leather boots, Gangle wears a mask, Jax is a furry, Ragatha's a stuffed doll, hell, the whole concept of having your identity wiped and replaced with a new one and new body you can't escape from is basically 1:1 with transformation fetish art. The whole damn show is a fetish, or isn't, who cares? What matters is how the story is affected, or how people are affected by it.
