I dont know if this is an unpopular opinion. Though it might be with ancient Otaku but after playing Sakura Wars V and Thousand Arms I find the way Red does romance very off putting. Now at first I thought it was the localization as Gungrave kicked ass, but Thousand Arms and Sakura Wars V were done by different companies like what 15 years apart. And then I got to thinking

If anyone remembers the mutual antagonism between "moral" authorities (often intertwined with schools) & children, popular culture, and the desires of the average person that occurred in the last third or so of the 20th century and the very first years of the 21st, that is exactly what I have been talking about. The ridiculous desire of the "authorities" to walk according to flesh and force unnecessarily strict rules, religious or otherwise, upon the youth have left them rootless and spiritually dead. An example would be how they treated any popular expression of normal, human heterosexuality the same as rank homosexuality or adultery, or treated smoking or playing violent video games as sins of mortal danger. You can the effects of idiotic standards like this with the more degenerate, left leaning millennials, who were chewed up and spit out by that dynamic which either insidiously resisted or corrupted and degenerated any progress we made as a society. They have, in turn, internalized and copied it, spitting it out on themselves and the younger generations in the form of "modern" "feminism" which has destroyed relations between the sexes. This will, in turn, make the problem worse as whenever you repress normal heterosexual relations, people will inevitably exhaust their human nature in genuinely worse pursuits, such as homosexuality or autogynephilic masturbation (which leads to transsexualism). We can already see this with sexless incels, the loneliness crisis, puritanical attitudes, and unseen levels of sexual degeneracy coexisting.
You know how some women online will post opinions along the lines of "If men didn't exist, I could dress as revealing as I wanted! I wish my clothes and body weren't sexualized!" Well, they got what they asked for. As a man walking around in 2026, there are plenty of practically naked women all over the place (but that doesn't necessarily make them attractive, although that's a discussion for another time). You can connect examples like this, indicative of a larger problem, as reasons why Zoomers seem to be prude and have less real life sex while simultaneously being possibly the most perverted generation in recent history. However, things were not always this way; Listen to the stories of Gen X and older, and look at popular media up to the early 2010s, and you'll see a far healthier view of sexuality was commonplace. Obviously it wasn't perfect, anyone can see that, but things were clearly far better than the hell on earth we have now. It seems that today, you're either doomed to monk mode or given all the tools to go on your personal solo, screen assisted Eyes Wide Shut gooner rampage. We know who controls fashion and we know who got rid of third spaces, who jacked up the prices of everything, who made the dating apps, who throttles selected social media posts, who distributes hardcore pornography for free to children, and who propped up feminism. For everything they prop up there is always a controlled opposition, but if you consider all the factors around today, and how all these factors foster both inceldom and extreme sexual degeneracy with no middle ground, you can pretty plainly tell that whoever orchestrated these factors (you don't seriously think that "who" has just made all these coincidences?) knows how they would psychologically affect the population. They have the studies, they know how the brain's reward system works. It's one big club, and you ain't in it.
Would it be nice if a lot of older games somehow came preconfigured with the necessary configs and mods to run on modern systems ? Sure.
But regardless of that, I am sorry but if you can't or won't get even slightly involved with your PC, learn how to install mods/patches/whatever, are unable to even use Google for 5 min and get discouraged by false positive virus alerts you are an idiot and PC as a platform is simply not for you.
Yes, trying to get some older game to work can be tedious and a hassle but pretending like you need a PhD for a lot of basic tasks is just false.
A lot of people are just lazy and dumb and the moment they have to put in the slightest amount of work they get discouraged and look for a solution that doesn't really need to exist in the first place (Remakes and Remaster in a lot of cases).
If I have to spend an hour I could be having fun being frustrated even trying to have fun, while opening myself up to viruses I don't need to, why shouldn't I just spend five bucks and get a hassle free experience instead?

It's genuinely hard for me to list any good games from that era. On the xbox you had bayonetta, tenchu z and ninja gaiden black ironically japanese games on the most western appealing console there was. Then on ps3 you had dmc4, mgs4, god of war 3 and uncharted that's about it.

I remember when Unreal Engine 3 would have horrible pop-in, excessive glare and muddy, brown textures. Some games from the 7th gen would go into darker directions for no reason. Example, Bomberman Zero.

Might have said this before but parts of the industry haven't figured this out but i wanna add something in. It's the same with race because i grew up around black people that played some video games not black gamers (they are a little rarer than most people wanna think.) and the type of people they want to make these games appeal to do play these types of games. They generally play really basic normies stuff like sports simulators or any multiplayer game similar to CoD what you probably won't see them playing is Dragon Age especially the newer one.

He got so mad that he didn't win an award for once that he ghosted Geoff Keighley (who by the way is acting like a desperate kid begging for attention) then he promoted AI, which I don't mind, and then just decided to switch teams because it's making him look bad.
