A game i like named Gravity Circuit is being given for free on steam. It's a megaman zero inspired game that has a pretty small fandom. Probably one of the most notable person on the fandom is DJ Afterburnz, a black man who selfships himself with the nurse npc from the game and has commissioned a lot of art and made AMVs.
He has multiple social medias, including some not here like twitch. His content is mostly about eurobeat, ace combat, sonic and gravity circuit and he is seemingly a professional dj.

Anyways, the nurse is a robot. She is a voiceless npc that sells you upgrades and has quirkish personality but she is irrelevant to the story. I do not know why one would self ship with this character but i guess she still has a conventionally attractive design.
He made AMVs with her but also what seems to be a multi-episode musical fanfiction that crosses over gravity circuit with the robots from sonic frontiers, where all these robo girls are fighting over him (dont ask me)

You would think the GC fandom would like DJ since he produces and commisions a lot of gravity circuit content, and while i don't browse the fandom, he seem fairly divisive. Mind you, Gravity Circuit fandom is a small so DJ has singlehandedly destroyed the reputation of the Nurse npc by self shipping with her for almost a year.
He even managed to be so bothersome that he was banned from the gravity circuit subreddit due to spam and arguing and presumably did socks to keep posting. I do think he got some ironic fans tho.
This would escalate into hating all yumeshipping art as there was no way to know if it was a DJ alt, but actual artists came out to say it was them so it's unclear.
I do not keep track of his social media. He posts a lot and seems to make thrash talk his haters often. I did find a reddit thread r/yumeshippersunite where DJ tells his story of "bullying an entire indie game fandom", because people started going against him so we went harder and fought back. He still denies making socks but i'm not sure i believe him.

For like eight months straight, I built an entire self-insert fanfiction universe called Robo Baby Mama Drama.
This wasn’t just text fanfic either. I was making edited videos, music, story arcs, lore, crossover nonsense, relationship drama, robot politics, ex drama, cheating arcs, literal soap opera nonsense. It became a whole thing.
And because Gravity Circuit is a smaller niche indie fandom, I basically became “that guy.”
Some people thought it was funny.
Some tolerated me.
A LOT of people absolutely hated my guts.
And I’ll be honest, instead of backing off when people got annoyed, I kinda did the opposite.
The more people reacted, the more I kept going.
Partially because I genuinely loved what I was making, and partially because I’m stubborn as hell and if people tell me “stop,” my brain unfortunately interprets that as “go harder.”
That eventually pissed off mods.
It pissed off fans.
It even annoyed the developer at one point.
And yes, I absolutely pushed boundaries and overdid it in places.
That part I can admit.
Eventually I got banned from the subreddit.
Now here’s the important part:
I did NOT tell people “go raid the subreddit.”
I did not say “everyone post this there.”
What happened was artists knew the lore, knew what happened, and some of them decided on their own to post the art to the Gravity Circuit subreddit.
Which from MY side was hilarious.
But from THEIR side?
Oh my Lord…
Imagine banning one weird self shipper.
Then suddenly multiple accounts start posting art involving his ship.
Different usernames (which were the actual artists accounts that they made like 15 min before posting)
All Different art styles of the same crazy vtuber and NPC nursebot.
I couldn’t blame ANYONE thinking I made alt accounts.
But then actual artists started proving they were real people.
Which somehow made things even funnier and worse.
Because now it wasn’t:
“this dude is ban evading”
it became
“WAIT THERE ARE MULTIPLE PEOPLE DOING THIS???”
Mods started crashing out.
Fans started crashing out.
People thought I was orchestrating some elaborate revenge plan. Like a yume shadow organization akatsuki from Naruto.
Others thought I created fake artists.
Some genuinely thought I was bullying an entire subreddit.
At one point someone basically compared me to an SCP because I kept somehow reappearing through sheer fandom bullshit.
Which absolutely killed me laughing.
And yes before anyone asks, I KNOW how ridiculous this sounds typed out.
Because I genuinely feel like I accidentally became internet folklore in one tiny fandom and I don’t know whether to be embarrassed, impressed, or seek therapy.

I dunno if this counts, but, someone had an alter that was Hitler in a System Server I lurked in awhile back and was banned for it, I think there was a doc made on them I gotta check.

I found that a lot of women that selfship with these kinds of ugly characters either have an "I can fix him" mentality or relate to their struggles since the characters in question usually have shitty personal lives or are made fun of in their respective media or fandom. And of course there are some that just find ugliness hot for whatever reason.
Anyway, a Pim selfshipper with really nice art popped up on my fyp recently and reminded me of that one woman who shipped with Alan. Do I understand it? No... but I respect the talent.
