Exactly, GPL allows for closed source codebases due to a loophole, AGPL closes said loophole. What I'm complaining about though was MSO dragging lawfare into the community, the sort of power you don't let trannies on a power trip have. To my knowledge outside of MSO no one else used it but using DMCA to mess with other communities pissed me off.

Regardless forcing communities to obey a diktat from the obese rape fetishist in how they run their community is another thing that abhors me.
To be fair, he wasn't a tranny at the time, he was a homosexual.

He wasn't at that point but I was referencing the rest of the troon infestation that was taking root in ss13 around that time.
Just messing with you.

I strongly disagree that open source is a bad thing, because a tranny taking your code and opening a troon server with it is not an issue (unless the host is a mentally unstable anime, like what happened to Whitesands and Shiptest)
However being unable to steal troon code and open a chud server such as with Goonstation when it was closed source without leaks is pretty bad.

In the open source arena, the troons beat the chuds in productivity, but the troons will struggle to take from chuds and succeed due to their own purity politics.

I agree but my beef stems from individual communities not being able to do what they desire with what they created, that and over the years Ive heard complaints from various coders complaining about features they made which added individual flavour to their server getting lifted and absorbed into the TG blob.

I'm a bit biased in this due to my seething hatred for TGstation and lawfare for matters like this. I'm a full supporter of FOSS but letting relatively microscopic ss13 communities have their fun and run their servers their own way is the exception I held after the DMCA crusade from MSO began. That and the idea of a single community keeping a grip on what the rest of ss13 can and can't do rubbed me the wrong way.

Because they made it and they own it. If you want your own thing, you have to make it so you own it.

It's the only fair way to live life. Imagine if you made something and someone else could tell you what to do with it and you were powerless to stop them. You'd hate that and probably never make anything again.

As far as I'm aware, DMCA's coming from TGstation are only to enforce the open source nature. You can't take open source, add to it, and then call it your own thing and try to close it. That's why Godsring copped a DMCA about it all those years ago, he was The Big Retard and wanted to be the ONLY Fallout 13 server so he could try to monetize it.

I compiled my report on Epstein's island, enjoy.

If you're afraid of clicking sketchy virus links, feel free to read the attached readmes instead.
This also contains ss13 exploits, a headless BYOND client emulator written in C# and a leaked unobfuscated binary that was accidentally released (as the person he is leaking info on was previously an ss13 troll). Have fun!

>wsock and rshoe the infamous SS13 griffons were shadow administrators of the snarky snappy all along
Wow, this is just like my heckin' capeshit extended universe!
Also does anyone have anything useful to say regarding the leaked SS13 tools? Like what do they do, how they generally work and what can they be used for (ban evasion for example)?

The names should be self explanatory

They're mainly ban evasion tools and server crashers but they're also gayshit, as far as I recall they could fuck with the admin panel, as well as aimbot.

That's right, these pathetic faggots needed aimbot in ss13 to robust.

Well yes but I was wondering if some actual .NET dev and not a complete amateur like me could rummage through the code, explain what it does and maybe tell if it's worth salvaging, because even without compiling it I'm pretty sure it's going to be at least partially outdated and thus broken for the current version of BYOND.
I'm currently busy IRL but I might try to compile and fiddle with it later this week anyway if nobody does it first.

I genuinely have no idea what the fuck is wrong with the SS13/14 community. 70% of the jannies and coders are either 50 year old megalomaniac losers (Oranges) or 20 years old emotional stunted autistic losers that think there internet persona actually matters to anyone. Troons have ruined this community.

Anyone have insight into the current SS14 power struggle a month in? I've had 2 people tell me that PJB is actually out for real and it has to do with him telling Jesse Rougeau to kill himself but they won't reveal their source or any receipts. Who is in charge and how likely is it that it's another fakeout? This is like the fourth time PJB has 'retired.'

As far as I know all of that is still functional.
I myself have very little experience with ss13 but people who have messed with it for years told me that the network code which causes these crashes has not been updated in like 20 years
FYI these exploits were discovered from analyzing a 2010 binary which was accidentally compiled without stripping symbols, and it was functional in 2024, so draw your own conclusions here.

The network exploits are all patched by server hosts or Lummox himself, that's why the game is even playable. SS13 has some knowledgeable networking autists who know how to find and fix these issues after dealing with them for over 10 years.

Some of the maintainers / owners of fork servers I play on were quite worried on the day, it faded over time and now it's back to business as usual complaining about having to revert shitty retarded PRs upstream is merging, such as changes to liquid container sizes in inventories. I'm not in any of the dev discords nor do I pay much attention to the githubs, but it seems nobody gives a shit anymore and it's all blown over.

Then again I don't play wizden so I don't hear from the horse's mouth.

This was taken from the RMC-14 Discord. An Aliens Vs Marine's game mode. And from what I've seen the most popular one. Talking about the skitzo tranny dev having another meltdown recently that may lead to SS14 being bricked. But I'm not sure on what exactly he's threatening besides deletion of critical data?

Info on that is in the middle paragraph.
