My cat was never bird-oriented, even after mice are gone after mass use of rat poison in my city. So is not the neighbour's one. The blackbirds could successfully deter cats by air-raids and sonic attacks that were too much even for me, when I went to hang laundry. The reason I don't have them around anymore, was that they repeatedly got their fairly well hidden nests raided and all the youngs killed (they kill even those they can't take away) by other birds, like jays, so they moved elsewhere. But you just don't hear much about ever present bird on bird violence, if at all. They all started parroting it after a 2013 study which the media boosted. "Is Mr. Whiskers SINGLEHANDEDLY DESTROYING NATIVE WILDLIFE?"
Cats do cause a lot of damage on islands like Hawaii or New Zealand because those birds have nowhere to run and often nest on land. But it's absolutely hysteria in North America. Cats never live far from humans. And despite the Trump admin's best efforts, there are many dense deep forests in America where you won't find cats at all. How are they killing those birds?
Also, dogs do a fuckton of damage to the environment, from the amount of food needs to be shoved down their disgusting gullets, to the shit and piss to the fact they also kill native wildlife.
The studies on dogs weren't as well received HMMM I WONDER WHY. MAYBE OUR SOCIETY WORSHIPS THEM
The reason why is the land where I live so bleak, dry and deserted, is the intensive agriculture on enormous plots of land, which makes even the notorically people-avoiding animals to prefer the city.
