Lol she doesn't want to admit to MLP even tho she puts in the duck.

Like I said, I don't recognize a lot of these characters. The duck is one of the ones I've never seen before. My only guess as to where it's from is the Disney "Chicken Little" movie. And I can't imagine anyone willingly admitting that they had anything to do with that movie.

Plus, she said "without me, none of you would have CHILDhoods," not "without me, none of you would have overweight, greasy, unhygienic, basement-dwelling, acne-scarred, autistic manhoods." Children don't watch MLP.

Canada is basically trying to force the idea that MLP FIM is a "REALLY LITTLE kids' show" by broadcasting it on Treehouse, which is basically a cross between Nick Jr. and most "kids' shows" you'd ever see on PBS, with a smattering of British shows such as Peppa Pig. Most of the other shows are so simplistic, it's clear they were made with toddlers in mind. Some pretend to be interactive (like Dora the Explorer and some others). But anyone watching would realize that at least MLP FiM doesn't talk down to its audience like literally every other show on there does--thus IMO it fits more on Teletoon, where they broadcast Rescue Bots, which IIRC was on Treehouse for a little while before they smartened up and put it on Teletoon.

She posts characters from Bebe's Kids but not Hello Kitty? Come on.
I'm kinda miffed she didn't put in her roles from those Mario cartoons in there.

The duck is actually from that Penguins of Madagascar TV show from a few years back. And no, Tara was not a lead in that show. That duck only had 2 episodes, 3 tops.

Yeah, I actually found that out AFTER I posted that. Being the bored sperg that I was, it actually started bugging me where it was from.

It actually took me sort of long to find that out, too. Googling things like "Tara Strong duck" and even "Tara Strong YELLOW duck" yield few relevant results. I finally found it after, like, 5 minutes whereas if it was a role that actually mattered it would've taken 5 seconds.

I think Tara Strong can't differentiate "being a voice" from being a fun/good character. I'm pretty sure if someone else did the voices instead of her, the character would be the same. She's no James Woods where she literally made the character for people. She has at most a range of about 4 where you have Tom Kenny and the guy from Reno 911 who can do multiple voices. Most of her repertoire is either Butch Hartman characters and PPG.

Climb off that high horse, sweetheart.

You know it gets pretty annoying when people conflate trump wanting to kick out illegal immigrants to wanting to kick out all immigrants. Comes off as more racist as all immigrants must be here illegally. Good job Tara.
The counterpoint to that, which Tara et al obviously hold to is "nobody SHOULD be considered illegal! Anyone who wants to come live there should be allowed!" I'm not sure WHY that strawman exists, but it's a heartstring-tug issue more than anything (ie poor people 'escaping' Mexico or Honduras can't "AFFORD" to go legally).

Okay, let's just bypass the fact that if she hadn't done those voices, someone else would have, probably as well if not better, because there are many, many, many people out there competing for the role--talented young American actresses who have to take a backseat to a Canadian who knows the right people.

But let's say none of those characters and/or shows happened because she wasn't cast. Let's just pretend that's the case, and get to the salient point:

If your childhood is annihilated by those shows never existing, you wasted your childhood and should have been outside playing anyway.

I still don't recognize most of those characters.

:autism:I recognize a lot of shows but in most cases that's because of the art style rather than her landing a memorable character. :autism:

Fairly Odd Parents
Inspector Gadget
The Little Mermaid (I think that's normie Ariel)
Ratchet and Clank
101 Dalmatians
Transformers Animated
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Power Puff Girls
Ben 10
Xioalin Showdown
Extreme Ghostbusters
Symbionic Titan
Danny Phantom
Teen Titans
Kim Possible
Rugrats All Grown Up
Lilo and Stitch
Injustice
Filmore
Marvel Super Hero Squad (I think that's a fat Sue Storm)
Codename Kids Next Door

I swear to God, we should really make a separate Trump salt thread just for celebrities. So many celebrities have chimped the fuck out in the past year thanks to him all hail Donald Trump, Patron Saint of Salt.

Yeah, the people who want to stop/ban all immigration are usually considered to be loonies by even the harshest critics of illegal immigration. Oh, and actually, you'd be hard-pressed to find a group of people who hate illegal immigrants more than legal immigrants who took the time, effort, and money to become citizens/residents.

Also, God forbid a country wants to protect its borders and carefully inspect the people it's allowing inside. I remember in the Alison Rapp thread, she went on a tirade against Trump and people concerned about illegal immigration (like Tara has done), decrying our "obsession" with border control and immigration policy. And then a little while later, she offered a place in her apartment for anyone who needed it... provided that they passed a background check, because after all, Alison can't let just anyone into her home.

You know, the thing that gets me is that there's a certain level of heartbreak. You grow up identifying with these characters you watched, and to some extent caring about not only them but the person behind them. It's normal in children, and even in adults.

And then you find out that this person for whom you held out admiration and affection would utterly hate you if they ever met you. They sneer, they froth, they deplore your beliefs and the things you hold dear, and openly wish people like you dead.

You can go back and watch those things again, but it's never the same; some of the magic is gone. Yeah, you can admire the performance on a technical level, but that heart just isn't there anymore.

It's called "ruined childhood". Thanks, Tara. I hope my children never find out what you said about their parents.
