The Stargate was actually designed and built by a multiracial LGBTQIAP+ tranny in a polycule. Xe/Xim was rebelling against the heternormative cishet religious bigot Ori.Been thinking a lot about the Amazon show and after seeing how EVERY show they've made ruins the source material, gotta wonder how bad Stargate will be.
Part of me hopes this series isn't set on Earth or during current times at all because of this shit. Plenty of other worlds, species and time periods to explore (like the rise of the Goa'uld, that would be interesting)The Stargate was actually designed and built by a multiracial LGBTQIAP+ tranny in a polycule. The villain will be a thinly veiled Trump stand in who is pushing a human supremacist galaxy to deport the poor oppressed Jaffa. He's probably a Gould that has found a way to be undetectable. Build a (space) wall and make the Jaffa pay for it. In order to bolster his popularity, not-trump will enact a false flag assassination attempt by a purported Jaffa.
The US Air Force/Military will no longer be professionals, but a disrespectful group of millennial with a #girlboss attitude. There will be comments about Russia being kicked out of the IOC because of thinly veiled Ukraine allegory. Depending on how much money the Chinese government is still paying US production companies, the Chinese will inexplicably be the unsung heroes of earth.
Yeah but I have hope that it will be good because most of the people who worked on the Stargate shows are involved. Martin Gero might have made a shitty tv show after he left but his Atlantis episodes were solid. Mallozzi said on his blog that he pitched a bunch of stories and is writing a script for an episode.Been thinking a lot about the Amazon show and after seeing how EVERY show they've made ruins the source material, gotta wonder how bad Stargate will be.
You mean the rise of the Goa'uld, caused by their leader at the time, the blond haired T'rump and his Ma'ga that convinced the rest of the Goa'uld to enslave everyone. Yeah, amazon could still fuck even that up.(like the rise of the Goa'uld, that would be interesting)
Mallozzi is also a consultant. As for Stargate, they brought in Brad as a consultant which is fine and dandy but we all know consultants only hold power if they're women or marginalized.
SG1 has all kinds of wepon in the first few seasons that strelo/k/s obsess over but for some reason in the later seasons they only carry P90s instead of M16s. i guess it makes more sense though since it's more of an all-round weapon since you never know what they're getting into on any given planet.I'm making my way through SG1 for the first time and loving it. I want to avoid spoilers so I won't be reading the thread until I'm done but I found something that tickles my gun autism.

S6E14 Smoke Mirrors, the one where MacGyver is framed for killing Sen. Captain Jellico. The other gun he looked at before the breakdown Remington 700 was a Knight's Armament Silent Revolving Rifle:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=I2V4Cjob6_sThere's a good chance the one Ian is looking at is the same one in SG1.

Also the cases ejected straight down, so hot brass didn't go flying everywhere. The P90 also simply looked cooler and more "sci-fi". iirc the in-universe explanation was pretty realistic, that 5.7 was better at penetrating Jaffa armor than MP5's 9mm, can't really fault them there lol.I think I read once that the BTS reason for the change was that the P90 were just easier to carry around and didn't get broken as easily when being hauled from one location to another while filming.
In the latter years, they used the P90 less. Mitchell and Sheppard used the G36 a few times. There was an episode where Teal'c was dual wielding MP7s. SGU used G36 and UMP 45 for the main cast and I don't think they had P90s. They dialed back the P90 because 5.7 blanks started getting extremely expensive during the height of the Iraq War. They trialed some freak hackjob M4 loadout with Carter one season during that time, thankfully it didn't stickIn the latter years, they used the P90 less. An Elcan on a super shorty AR-15? That's a choice. Replace the Elcan with a reddot and make it in 300Blackout and I'd buy it. I've got some woodland BDUs lying around, all I need are someThey dialed back the P90 because 5.7 blanks started getting extremely expensive during the height of the Iraq War.
