If the Middle East war doesn’t end quickly, the world — including the Group of 7 developed nations that have relied on their ample oil reserves — “will start facing scarcity,” warned Ipek Ozkardeskaya, an analyst at Swissquote. And analysts at J.P. Morgan recently said that developed countries’ commercial crude stocks could be close to operational stress levels by early June.

On paper, global crude inventories are ample, and they include both commercial stockpiles held by companies and strategic stockpiles held by governments. But not every barrel is available, and operating with low levels of inventories causes its own problems.

Estimates on exactly how much is stockpiled vary, because both companies and governments are playing it close to the vest: They are not keen on letting the world know exactly how much crude they have stockpiled.

Providing some relief in March, the International Energy Agency coordinated the release of 400 million barrels from the strategic reserves of its member countries, with the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve set to provide nearly half of the backup supplies.

Demand curbs, including flight cuts from global airlines and restrictions mostly in Asian countries, have also helped manage the disruptions in crude production. According to J.P. Morgan, global oil demand fell by an average of 2.8 million barrels a day in March, and was tracking a larger decline of 4.3 million barrels a day in April and an even steeper decline of about 5.5 million barrels a day in May.

“A core assumption of our framework is that the accelerating pace of oil inventory depletion will ultimately force the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, one way or another,” J.P. Morgan analysts said in a recent note.

Analysts at Morgan Stanley on Monday said that oil markets are in a “race against time,” as the combination of factors that have been in place to curb crude-price jolts will fray if the Strait of Hormuz stays closed through June.

Rationing will begin long before reserves are drained. This lines up with the worry that the bottom falls out in June.

Like with every "war" america has engaged in since 1960 it entirely depends on how many headlines trump is willing to accept. The only thing keeping iran alive at this point is westerners' sympathy and humanitarianism, which is quite a substantial force.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy sank a livestock carrier and seized a Chinese floating armory in the Gulf of Oman today.

➡️ The Indian-flagged Haji Ali was attacked earlier in the day off the coast of Oman by what was reportedly an Iranian cruise missile or drone.

Oh god. I hated that scene. The S-125 SAM system would never fire in such rapid succession like that. It would be several seconds minimum between launches. Its also painfully outdated from the 1960s but they look pointy and scary. A country defending their nuclear site buried under a mountain would use something like the S300- S400, but those come in soft, round tubes and don't look intimidating if you know nothing about SAM systems. M2 BUKs would be more realistic.

Funny thing, Iran has never used or owned the S-125 SAM system in their history.

Genuinely cannot tell if this is a serious post or sarcastic. Bringing up the ICC as if it has any power to prosecute Americans is one of the clearest indications that someone is a drooling retard. Civilians being killed in war is not inherently a war crime. Even if it were, which in this case it is not, please look into the American Service-Members' Protection Act, and the lack of ratification of the Geneva protocols by both the U.S. and Iran. My point seems to have completely gone over your head. If anyone committed a war crime it was the Iranians by putting the children there. From Protocol I to the Geneva Convention:
The presence or movements of the civilian population or individual civilians shall not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations, in particular in attempts to shield military objectives from attacks or to shield, favour or impede military operations. The U.S. military is not proud of killing kids, and does everything possible to avoid it, but it becomes impossible when your enemy decides it would be somehow beneficial to them for their children to be killed and puts them directly in harms way. Do you really think that if the U.S. wanted to blow up Iranian kids they would only hit a single school? If we just build schools on top of all our military bases is nobody allowed to bomb them?

The U.S. can do a lot with satellite technology if they have reason to, but why the fuck would they be checking to see if a random building on a military base has been turned into a school? There was no reasonable indication that it had been, because the muds weren't even trying to use them as human shields to prevent themselves from being bombed. They were intentionally setting up the conditions for these children to be killed so that faggots like you could go "m-m-m-muh war crimes!" You do not care about the children, you care about gagging on muslim cock.

What are the odds we're going to disable it? It being seized from China kinda puts it in a weird position, don't think I've heard of a ship belonging to a third party getting fired at after being taken over.
