From what I understand (I'll rewatch the clip latter), Ethan sent the C&D letter a while back but now it seems that he's suing Ian, it could be complete bullshit like with the negro of the content nuke, ShawnDaBlack or whatever nigger name he has.

EDIT: There is a THREAT of lawsuit, but the only thing the Johmas have received is a C&D letter so far.

It seems a bit of a reach but apparently Canadian law is retarded enough that the mere fact that Ian showed the message on stream, even if he didn't agreed with it and didn't believe it was true, is sufficient for Ethan to have grounds to sue Ian.

In my research, aided by AI (YMMV), I found an article covering a lawsuit not too dissimilar to the one that involves Ethan and Ian, this one. There were also other articles referring to defamation law in Canada.

From what I read in the articles linked and elsewhere (IANAL), it seems that in Canada is very easy file and win a defamation case, you don't even need to live in the country and you don't even need to prove damages, the mere fact someone is displaying or repeating a defamatory message, made by a third party, is sufficient for someone to have enough grounds to sue you.

There is, currently no concrete clue, as to the status of the lawsuit, if it is even real.

Honestly, the best and smartest move Hasan's done has been to categorically ignore them. Whether its because he's heartless or because he could just fucking smell the stink of cloutgrabbing from Anisa trying to use him to jump into the political sphere is irrelevant, he did exactly the right thing in just using their eagerness to get a shot in on whoever, and then proceed to completely forget they exist as soon as that shot was fired. I believe in Canada defamation cases consider almost purely economic loss. If he can point to the moment the line started going down and link it to the CPS report it might be plausible.
