Is there a specific district you mean? I've looked at some of the new maps, and they're pretty normal. Texas in particular seems less-gerrymandered in the new map, than the previous one.

The new Missouri map looks fine, too. There's a few fingers here and there, but it's mostly just blobs. Democrats are so concentrated they can only win if districts are drawn specifically to group their voters to give them a seat.
Indiana's map didn't get voted through, but even it is hardly concerning.
Real gerrymandering looks like the old "Snake on the Lake" Ohio district or that abomination in Louisiana. Or the old Texas 35th above. Usually they contain only portions of counties and try to absorb parts of different cities. A big blob really isn't gerrymandering, even if it ends up biased in favor of one party or other.

the study you're talking about was just about birth weights & rates of c-sections and didn't find any significant health outcome differences associated with any specific racial pairing. they said asian woman + white guy couples had more c-sections and it was speculated to be due to pelvic dimensions. asians have smaller babies because they are statistically smaller people, so it seems like the outcomes are exactly what you would expect. birth weight is one important dimension of newborn health but it isn't determinant of anything by itself, like infants of gestational diabetes mothers are much heavier than the babies of metabolically healthy women, weighing more doesn't = "stronger" infants. the first born of any family is generally smaller than subsequent babies and there isn't any real penalty to their health for it, either.
