We haven't suffered a single "cut" other than arguably the f-15.
Iran is holding the entire Middle Eastern oil market hostage, which the west and Asia depend on. Thats an big open wound thats bleeding and shows no signs of stopping.
There's been a massive tactical error by the US by ignoring the rocket speed boats which now present a real threat to big, soft, slow, targets like the cargo ships. The US miscalculated Irans resilience thinking they would agree to surrender but the tolerance for pain is far greater than they anticipated. Iran has had time to place dozens of mines in the Strait by now which will take time to remove. Are we loosing dozens of men to sandniggers in the hills? No, but this a pretty dire situation where Iran has the ability to shut down entire economies across the world. Thats not dooming, thats reality if this drags on for 1-2 months more.
Now, Iran has lost dozens of commanders, generals, large air defenses, radars, ocean ships, missiles, nuclear sites and war industries, but asymmetrical warfare has been their whole game for the past 40+ years.
I won't say Iran is winning, but they have the US in a chokehold that Trump is now hesitant to get out of because 'muh deal'. If I had to point to reasons why, it could be the more extensive damage done to bases, it could be the pilot rescue close call, it could be our interceptor supplies are low, he could also be avoiding another oil shock, but thats unavoidable. Delaying it just prolongs the pain and reduces the chances for a quick rebound.
Sure this isn't as bad as actual US fatalities, but to Jonny Taxpayer, seeing a US base in the sandbox pockmarked and smashed like a giant decided 'fuck you in particular' to a couple hangars, it doesn't look like we're winning.
Whats more concerning is not just cost, its the time it takes to manufacture and replace these assets.
