Recommendation: Incident At Loch Ness. It's a paradocumentary about... making a documentary about the Loch Ness monster. Herzog's in it as a slightly fictional version of himself. It's really funny if you're aware how it's all fake from the get-go (which is quite obvious). They spend a lot of time on the boat pretending to bicker about silly details like the inclusion of a bikini model in the footage.

Honestly I liked Murderbot. It stayed pretty accurate to the books so the diversity wasn't as off-putting as it is in shows where the diversity is forced in Willy nilly, and fits with the narrative that humans are weird and the protagonist finds them gross.

I know nothing about this show. Please tell me they made the androids almost indistinguishable from humans for no reason like in Blade Runner.

The SecUnit is partially organic, being a fusion of human genetic material and technology so...
It's a minor pet peeve of mine. They always make them 99.9% humanlike just to make it all dramatic. There would be no need for the Voight-Kampff test if the replicants looked like Darth Maul. They aren't human, they're property, and they always cause problems. It would make perfect sense to make them stand out when you see them on the other side of the street.

Yeah but you wouldn't want to have sex with them if they were retarded looking. In Murderbot they are supposed to have their helmets on all the time anyway. At least the security bots. Not to mention that the humans don't even act human so it doesn't matter anyway.

It's like 80% comedy anyway, so it's not really an issue in this show, but yeah I do get your point.

The books had a very compelling story especially as it gets into the alien infection. If the series follows the books it'll have SecUnit rediscover his origin story and meet an asshole ship AI and it'll be fun to watch.

I wish someone would adapt Ann Leckies Ancillary series. Brie Larson would actually be pretty decent as the Justice of Toren and there's enough woke nonsense carefully salted so that the adapter wouldn't have to ruin the series by forcing it in

Ostatnio edytowane:
I recently rewatched the classic Three Colors Trilogy for the first time in almost three decades now that they recently got the Criterion 4K treatment. Blue and White are both excellent movies, but the finale, Red, is mind blowingly perfect in its execution.

The new Ryan Gosling sci-fi film Project Hail Mary is pretty good. Basically interstellar but it’s Goose.
latefag but I second this so hard omg.
the movie posters made it seem like a slopfest when it first came out but its genuinely a well-crafted, fun film.

I hear it's still on theatres on some countries. definitely worth seeing

Archive 81, I recommend watching this before or after watching the Backrooms movie. It deals with mold, comets, cults, aliens, The 90s and time travel. Sadly one season! *sigh*

What's a better sci Fi parody, Galaxy Quest or Spaceballs? Or is there a third even better one?

I would also recommend Werner Herzog's latest documentary Ghost Elephants.
It's cool documentary about a team up with these Namibian bush man trackers and a tribe from Angola to find relatives of the world's largest elephant ever recorded in the Angolan highlands of the center of the country.
