I remember listening to a story from a show about prisons over a decade ago. There was a guy in solitary who had a chomo as the next cell over. You could hear what people were saying if they talked through the A/C vent. You'd think the chomo, already in administrative segregation 23 hours a day, would have some humility, or some fear for his life, but no. The guy being interviewed said he'd yap through the duct all day about the boys he raped. The only thing that shut him up was physically ripping his toilet off the cell floor, smashing through the door, and smashing through the other cell's door to get to him.
It gets these guys off knowing they can yap about all the shit they masturbate to and there's not really anything you can do to them. Like theoretically you can let his parents and neighbors know but you can't stop him from jerking off to kids.
