Unironically, the only thing that could fix Ian is a good friend group. I'm starting to think he's just some kinda social chameleon when it comes to his work and efforts. If he was genuine friends with a group of edgelord content creators once more, the old Ian would almost assuredly emerge. He seems to fit in by doing what his friends around him do. If he were to build genuine, deep friendships with a bunch of obscure video essayists, he'd end up doing that shit.

Anisa has isolated him to hell and back, and seems to actively encourage that isolation. He's trying to warp into whatever she is/wants, but she doesn't give him enough attention to actually finish cooking that personality, or her bipolar style bullshit leaves him so crossed that the safest action to take is just nothing. But she also clearly wants him isolated, whether she knows she's doing it or not.

He needs friends, not meds. Real ones, that are his and his alone, not Anisa 'safety hires' like the DnD guys. He needs to see them in real life, and they also need to be doing their own things in life for him to start to mimic. But with Anisa keeping him in the basement, he doesn't stand a chance.

I can't believe that she spends all that money on reptiles, enclosures, and accessories, only to sit it on such scuffed furniture. That looks like something they dragged out of the neighbor's trash heap. Don't even get me started on the storage underneath. You're probably right. But the damage done is so bad that he'd never win back anyone. Plus his reputation's so shit that nobody is gonna want to be friends with him to begin with.

I don't think this is true - but he's only willing to put in effort if its his social circles norm. I really do think he's just that much of a chameleon, he genuinely needs people around him to mirror his life off of. Its why Anisa is so absolutely destructive, she's isolating him and not providing enough of a basis for him to mirror off of - she's too close to home so to speak for him to identify "how it should be done".

His CC boxing stuff lines up with this explanation - The coach was saying he was fine and workable when Anisa wasn't around sabotaging shit for him. Given a role model and an objective to emulate, he seems to be entirely capable. Anisa just strips him of all of that and leaves him structureless.

I couldn't find any info on where they live but does she own that stupid fucking aquarium in her mom's house or did they move out of there? Did they move back to America or did they find a place in Canada? I know canada has a housing crisis right now so I guess she had to show her bootyhole to some of the indian migrants there to be able to afford it
