Whats with the Kiwifarms hate enclave on Twitter/X? - NOT the usual suspects

Recently I've noticed an odd group on X (formerly twitter) that hate the farms and Null in particular. People who aren't the run of the mill "the farms is evil fascism site" but rather individuals who have an axe to grind with the forum and are usually former users or claim to be. Common comments include "The site should have died years ago" or "The farms has (explicit material) hosted and it's full of (xyz) etc. I'm not saying "people should love this site and agree with everything on it and lavish praise to the owner" but it is odd to see such anger and sometimes libelous statements aimed at the farms from people who claim to be former users and claim to have anti-censorship personal politics. That or actively posting about the "imminent demise" of the farms like it's a job. I frequently see an account that posts KF updates multiple times a day comprised of screenshots from Kf and another site, Onionfarms where they get a lot of material from a thread about the farms and Null.

Am I just out of the loop? Is the ooperator of KF a power hungry dictator that bans people during mood swings? Does the farms host the most evil content known to man in a deep dark part of the site only a select few are given access to? Is all this retarded psychobabel? I am legitimately curious about why this is.

jersh is human. He makes mistakes and sometimes does things on purpose that suck sometimes (RIP Animal Control + Kennel Club). He works hard to keep our little slice of authentic capital-I Internet open and alive. At its core, it's still the same site even after a few changes.

the farms hosts content that makes the most evil people recoil, but no select few is given access to it. That is unless you mean the weird secret mass DM chain part of the site full of weird roleplay, catboys, and behavior that generally goes against what you'd normally find elsewhere on the site. It's funny when they leak.

I personally believe these particular people driven away from the site somehow get too attached to a particular preconception they have about the site, usually identity driven/tribalism or something to do with image. Symptom of current day lowercase-i internet, I think.

Some people just believe so much into their own shit, that once they're separated from that thing they've made a home in, they tend to have a strong stance of "this place should be gone unless I'm in it."

I've seen this type of behavior multiple times in people. It's sheer entitlement that radiates off from them, where they believe themselves to be pillars of a community and that their say is the way and fuck everyone else. And when they cross a line, get penalized like anyone else would similarly, then they regress into entitled 14 year olds who feel the world owes them something.

I should have worded it better but basically people claim that KF hosts content that is expressly illegal such as exploitative pornography. I know this is false but some people like to claim that it's there you "just have to find it". The first time I heard that claim or accusation rather was back in 2019-ish I believe but it got increasingly worse with the drop kiwifarms movement where people would say extreme stuff just to make the farms look worse.

One of the people I see complain about KF on X is very upset that the farms doesn't like the cartoon children posters. They especially dislike that null said dispairaging things about lolicons (pedophiles). It's insane that they don't see the problem with themselves.

Well, you also need to understand that the xitter/bluesky/reddit crowd will tell you literally anything ever followed by "you have to figure out why." A lot of them have no reason or basis for their beliefs other than peer pressure. Y'know, like trannies. "You just have to believe us immediately because we said so and you have to find the reason later/in retrospect!" Can't argue with crazy people driven together by their own shared loneliness, who only became a parody of socialization because of their own lack of agency/integrity. I mean, the social media they're using also drives them to feel that way anyways. You know how predatory it is with everyone posting only their BEST and most RELATABLE moments and not sharing any true fumble unless it can be twisted into a approval-generating-machine likes-farm. Even here on KF we have it, but thankfully it's quick to get called out here since criticism and scrutiny are encouraged.

Not sure if you've ever ran a website or club or business or anything. One of the lessons that is quickly learned is how difficult (impossible) it is to please everybody. There are people that have different ideas of the direction of things, decisions made which favor a group or person over another, people that don't fit in and have to be removed, people that quit in protest of certain decisions, people who hate you personally, on and on. Even if you do a phenomenal job and have the love and support of 95% of people involved, there is always going to be a burned 5% with an axe to grind.
