Payment Processor Censorship (Visa / Mastercard / Stripe / PayPal etc) - Discuss Payment Processor/Gateways/Banks censoring people in this thread.

I genuinely can't believe they did it. Usually the feds are happy to let the banks lead them around like a dog on a chain, someone must have made someone very unhappy.

Hopefully this means a continued improvement on KF's payment options. It's kind of crazy to think things went from operating exclusively over Tor and only accepting checks in the mail to possibly being able to pay for T&H using fucking paypal.
It's gone too far now. When it was kiwifarms and a handful of other sites considered to be chuddy, no one cares. But now it is hitting Steam, Patreon and other mainstream sites. Everyday people are having services they use get hit by this cartel.

Is this just a strongly worded letter or can these companies actually be punished? I don't see any threats of fines or anything.

That's nice. When will the bankers and processors be punished for what they've already done and then forced to reverse prior debanking? This is just a strongly-worded warning. Where are the consequences?
Nothing will happen. This is meaningless.

Payment processors are not (currently) considered "common carriers". They can and do discriminate on non-protected (race, etc. being protected) bases. And in fact they're often subject to restrictions that necessitate KYC (know your customer) to prevent "illegal" transactions.

They'll always err on the side of caution (both for legal risk reasons and because they are all run by shitlibs who are sympathetic to views that conservative beliefs should be illegal). And the Trump administration isnt going to change that.

If biglaw firms who gleefully, rampantly and willfully discriminate on the basis of race are going to get away with it (they are, firms that settled with the administration, even knowing they were obviously breaking the law, are suffering for such settlement), no way will payment processors do fuck all.

Unless and until Trump's DoJ brings a case against a payment processor on these bases and wins in a progressive district and is affirmed by a progressive appeals court, nothing else matters. Trump can proclaim anything he wants. Action only occurs once the progressive partisan judiciary bends the knee.

I wish every government would go "you are on thin fucking ice, assholes" and have the ceos at gun point.
This gets back to one of those ultimate rules: Every Change You Make Increases CEO Pay

The mouth breather Luigi Mangione's biggest claim to fame should be that he increased the pay of future executives at UnitedHealth because there is a risk premium to potentially being murdered by a mongoloid idiot who doesnt understand how the world works.

As much as it hurts for normal humans to hear, CEOs are not the ones calling the shots. Making $10 million a year is *nothing*. One law firm -- kirkland & Ellis -- has more equity partners bringing in that kind of money than there are CEOs in the fortune 500. And even they are just carrying out the will of the billionaires who exert pressure on politicians and promote prosecutors who agree with them.

The greatest power CEOs have is they can live in big houses, get nice travel, and some relatively lavish parties thrown for them. That is comically close to *nothing* when compared to the power of, say, MacKenzie Scott, who can and does throw *billions* at the progressive leftist beast that solely serves to leech and undermine basic civil liberties in favor of the leftist omnicause of destroying western society to create a fictional utopia.

Payment processors CEOs dont have the will or power to change anything. Until laws are passed, and the progressive judiciary admits defeat to those laws, both of which are unlikely to happen, payment processors will continue to discriminate based on politics because it is the "safest" course of action for them in the modern paradigm

The FTC Chairman sent letters to PayPal, Stripe, Visa, and Mastercard warning them that they can no longer deny services to political affiliations, religious beliefs, or lawful business activities.
Why the hell were they allowed to do that shit in the first place? Religious beliefs is the most surprising part to me because I would assume that such a form of discrimination would automatically be illegal.

The FTC Chairman sent letters to PayPal, Stripe, Visa, and Mastercard warning them that they can no longer deny services to political affiliations, religious beliefs, or lawful business activities.

So what if the payment processors pull off the biggest 69420 IQ move, and block ALL of their services only for the US, just to make the FTC cuck out so they can resume their payment processor censorship? That would also crash the economy so hard that the Democrats would fully sweep the 2026 and 2028 Elections and take EVERY House and Senate seat.

I got a feeling they'll still deny kiwifarms because of all the articles claiming its a criminal stalker site or some other gay shit

Its time for US payment processing for KiwiFarms.
I wish but there are too many retards on this site who don't understand that when Null tells everyone to stop Cow-tipping, he's actually being serious. However, I do believe that the payment processors should be forced to either allow services to this site or keep the status quo while also denying services to Reddit which engages is far worse behavior.

This is just a strongly-worded warning. Where are the consequences?
Sorry for the double-post, but what you said really needs to be addressed: the first step you take before enforcing rules is to outline what they are. Otherwise any punishment dished out will be shed in court. This is the same principal behind why Hans Brix was sent to Iraq when everyone genuinely believed that Saddam had weapons(a belief that Saddam pushed intentionally to deter Iran) anyway and that sending some wimpy Swede wouldn't make him change his mind.

I love how this thread has exploded so many broke nigger farmers, stop paying there is no debt prisons, oh wait your begging for credit for future consumption. There is this thing you can do get off you fat ass and get a job, or go full boomer and take a chip and gets your freee shit stop begging for muh credit who do you think you are uncle Samuel?

People have way too much trust in governments saying they'll do something instead of actually doing something.
Exactly, words are meaningless when they're not backed up.
Its a dumb comparison but our government said they were going to stop savings time a few years back, they never did. They all agreed on it and nothing happened. They can't even accomplish that on any scale. They definitely can't accomplish anything with payment processors.
