The lumber industry practices sustainability, they don't actually just clear cut all the trees, they basically rotate areas like farmer's fields, replanting areas as they go. Because cutting down all the trees would be bad for the industry. We're not fucking Ching Chongs.

Yeah, and rotations can be decades long. most around my neck of the woods last 80 years before cuttings. AND not every tree on a lease is cut. smaller trees might not be cut, and the area is usually replanted/reclaimed afterwards.
