I remember when the Tomodachi Life drama was happening when i purchased the game. I didn't understand what the big deal was. All you can do is just make a female Mii with the Male Mii's body to emulate same-sex relationships and call it a day. But of course they never did that.

On the other hand with Miitopia that's releasing later this month, Nintendo didn't do anything involving same-sex romance. Only thing they did was have friendships increase which helps in battle since it's like a RPG game. So you can have two female Miis with a high relationship that will make them OP. But they're not sexually attracted or gay with each other. But i'm sure Tumblr will flip that into something of their own or other websites.

Or if what they try to impose to other countries they might view as imperialism/propaganda/westoxification. If they did that to Duterte he'll show images of atrocities committed by Americans to Filipinos like he did when Obama criticized him. Oh Jeez, lets unpack this stupidity. ARMS has many playable characters from different parts of the world including a green blob thing and a mummy so of course there bound to be a black character. Splatton 2 just announced a new duo to replace Callie and Marie and it only makes sense they would look like different pop stars. Also, Splatoon always had color with character customization. Animal Crossing has been mentioned in the post above mine. Ever Oasis is developed by a different development team than the rest of the games called GREZZO and the game takes place in the desert. But leave it to some moron at NEOfag to think that Nintendo is doing it for "representation".

When Nintendo released New Super Mario Bros. U and Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds close to the same time there was a purple rabbit character in both games. The late Iwata said that this was unintentional because the games were developed by different teams. So if Nintendo can release two games with purple rabbits in the same year which is way odder and not be intentional than this is also likely unintentional.

The funny thing is that in Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer, you can choose your skin color. I own the game and i was surprised about that. But in the other Animal Crossing games such as New Leaf, City Folk, Wild World and the original, you had to stay outside in the sun during the Summer in order to get a tan. I will admit, it's fucking hard to do it and you have to be somewhat precise doing it. But on the other hand, you don't notice the tan if you're outside helping villagers until a few minutes or an hour later.

It's sad to think we've changed very radically over the past few decades to the point we were complain about things that don't fit our 'view'. Nobody ever had to question that in a video game during my youth in the 80's.
