Iran Crisis & the 2026 War between Iran and the United States, Gulf States, and Israel - Please focus on news and coverage, not argumentation.

This is the market game. 5 days is friday afternoon after the market closes. Trump knows it will be a financial bloodbath the moment he escalates this war and he's hoping other opportunities to zig and zag open up between now and then. At the moment, I believe Iran called his bluff and there were no talks.
I could see both sides. He keeps claiming that Iran wants a deal, but he doesn't, and Iran keeps saying the opposite.
Odds are he was hoping for a long-shot chance at them actually falling for it, but if not, they still gave a signal of exactly which places they would target in order to make preparations should anything escalate.
Until then, it's another week of the standard grind of degrading their assets and complaining about NATO.
Plus, he managed to trick WTI into dropping to $85 lol.

This is just more market manipulation bullshit, isn't it?, the war is actually far from over.
The gulf states and israel want the iranian regime gone for good. Yeah it's probably going on lol. I would expect this week they're going to prepare unblocking the strait.
Also aren't there two other US warships underway? I remember reading about that.

There was a report that Israel and America planned to begin a two-week operation to force open the Strait, so it makes sense.
Even Iran's FM admitted this was likely just a stalling tactic as they work to bring in more military forces.

Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! Unless it's a farm.

Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Member of the Majles Foreign Policy and National Security Committee:
Iran has established a new de facto sovereign regime in the Strait of Hormuz; we are charging $2 million for passage to cover war costs, this is our right.

An Iranian missile specialist, identified as Dr. Saeed Shamkhdari, was killed in a strike on his home in Tehran, along with several members of his family, according to reports.

It wouldn't be unlikely for Trump to be talking to Pahlavi, so perhaps he's refering to him as the negotiating representative of Iran?

Either that, or he's negotiating with their generals directly. Their foreign ministry has already shown they don't negotiate, so why would he go through them as an intermediary?
You forgot the iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, he's not dead because they need someone at the UN giving handjobs to the Russians.

both options could have been avoided if he didn't make the threat in the first place. did he not know the repercussions? how the fuck could he not know what iran would do in response if we took out their power plants? they would obviously respond in kind if we took out their power plants, or did the white house brain trust not know, or was it all for show and the joke's on me?

Read the Art of the Deal.
This but unironically
"Okay sure you absolutely ass-raped your enemy on the battlefield, reduced his logistics chain to rubble and literally killed his leaders, but your stocks went down so you lose" sounds way more Clauswitz than Sun.
But they are losing, did you not see trump TACOed?
