Literally all Trump requested was that they send a few extra assets to both prove to Iran that their intimidation tactics don't work and to give confidence to the transport tankers.
Iran's last attempt didn't even actually hit the ship, but they still refuse to step even one toe out of line after Iran proved that they were lying about having missiles that can hit them.
I'm not saying every head of state should strap on their combat boots, but something to prove they aren't Iran's bitch would be nice.

Europe doesn’t want in on Iran because there is only downside; there is no upside. Parading around celebrating you toppled a regime is great for an ego but not for economics. You als have Europe with a Russian neighbor that invaded a country in false pretense and setting an example of being drawn into a war in Iran who did not strike you first sort of falls flat on their argument against Russia.

Carriers usually spend a few months after being deployed getting refits and fixing anything broken. With how long it's been deployed 14 months sounds about right but that won't be until after it's relieved.

They haven’t sent anything because they have nothing to send. The Natoid armed forces are complete jokes. If they agreed to participate it’d make them look even more laughable. Their minesweepers turn up with barely enough crew to sail and maintain watch, not enough fuel for the return journey, no minesweeping gear fitted and no ammo for the gun.

British territory has been attacked repeatedly (Cyprus and that Indian Ocean base) and they offer no response not because they won’t but because they can’t. Nothing to respond with.

Beyond the states in Eastern Europe which maintain decent ground and air forces (as their economic capabilities allow) Europe’s armed forces are a joke.

France’s military is functional but France just does whatever, they always have.

The United States should really re-examine its commitments in Europe in light of such things.
