Iran Crisis & the 2026 War between Iran and the United States, Gulf States, and Israel - Please focus on news and coverage, not argumentation.

> Asks for help from NATO
> NATO tells him to pound sand
> Pretends he didn't want their help in the first place :story:
TBH I was under the impression this was rhetorical, he is highlighting their uselessness and unhelpfulness by making them say 'no' and I think has a short to medium term plan to put that to use

Hey if it's not Europe's problem, when the war is over and shipping is going through the Strait, then it can not be Europe's shipping either. No tankers destined for Europe allowed to transit either the Strait or the Red Sea. Total European disconnection, after all that's what they're saying is their position right now, isn't it?
They should just think of it as a booster for reaching their 2030 climate goal.

way diffrent bathemotrys and you run the risk of cutting SEE-ME-WE and take out most of the worlds data transfer

So you think of when the tanker "drug anchor" in the baltics and severed that cable, here is how deep the baltics are

I circled the area of interest so you can compare their relative depths

so to explain why its hard to cut the cable you want let me show you all the cables connecting the Eastern USA to Europe

there is about a dozen give or take spread out over a thousand miles, now here is the Indian ocean

you realize how complicated it gets REAL fast? a handful of those are world data cables connecting multiple CONTINENTS and some are regional ones just connecting other countrys together, you could easily accidentally plunge yourself into darkness as much as your opponent by simply "dragging anchor" so it requires advanced undersea diving and thats more complicated than alot of these nations can handle.
If they are in an existential crisis, and don't have nukes, why would they care if they cut themselves off if it causes as much pain as possible. They are probably mostly relying on local infrastructure now anyway, the undersea cables are basically meaningless except for getting out their insanely funny AI videos at 1000mbps.
Not saying it is a good idea, but if you don't have the nuclear option, you do what you can.

i'd like to ask anyone who keeps parroting the "largest state sponsor of terrorism" line, if they remember the US funding the contras, the mujahs, the taliban, and ISIS.
weird that all of those things were also things that people said we shouldn't be doing internally, and that it was ignored and continued anyway. gee, it's almost like the presidents who did that were faggots, and we would have been against it if we were currently living in those times, you actual mongoloid.

GUYS. WHAT ABOUT? got any other retarded shit to spew, commie?

If the jewspergers want Trump to stop relying on Israel so much, maybe some other country should jump in and help us now and then.

"Does anyone remember when the US took calculated risks in 20th century realpolitk and it didn't work out exactly as we planned? This proves the point that doing nothing at all will ALWAYS work out better!"

This type of thinking is why you will always be poor.

you misunderstand the situation

Israel wormtounged US into bailing them out of a shitty stupid forever war, we fell for it like smucks then tried to get others to hold the bag but no one else wanted to be the bigger fool

we are RETARDED for going into Iran the way we did and this dumbshit position is the first penalty for that.

"it's whataboutism to prove me wrong!"

"giving guns and missiles to the terrorists we claim to hate is just a calculated risk!"

Fair enough. I thought submariners were suicidal enough. I imagine jihadi one's would be more so, even if just for cables.
Or iran sends "fireships" dragging huge anchor cables, barrelling straight across the strait. Send five/ten ships that can handle it, huge trawling anchors and nets. Rip up the sea bed all the way through.
If that could be a thing.
I could also be dead wrong and Iran has total control of the strait, including ability to deny US helicopters, jets, submarines and USVs.

The fog of war question means we don't really know who has what at where.
Does the brain trust in this thread think the Iranians were more of a threat to our way of life than than democrats who will immediately begin orchestrating the next infinity refugee/illegal invasion once they absolutely dogwalk the republicans through the midterm and presidential elections?
They both are.
One is foreign, one is domestic.

One can be dealt with by the USAF and USN.
One can be dealt with (in theory) by ICE, DoJ and at the polls this November.

remember the US funding the contras
Contras were based.
We should have provided them air cover.

Total Commie Death.

Realistically you'd need like a month to corral a CSG around the British air craft carrier, with an escort formed up of spare ships from anyone else. The problem is that it would cost money, which Europe can't afford and it requires leadership. Which Europe has basically none of what so ever. The reality is that Europe can't help Trump even if they wanted to, and they don't because Trump hurt their egos.
It's not about egos. As I said, it's about a divergence in interests and priorities. Americans seem to take it for granted that Europe should send forces to help bomb Iran, even though the US did not ask us and explicitly said it did not need us when the operation began, and even though the US has been banging on for the past year now about how Europe should focus on Russia while the Americans focus on everything else.

I'd ask a simple question: what exactly do you want from us? Do you want us to be involved in every American operation, or do you want us to focus on the North Atlantic region so you can divert your Europe forces to other places where they are needed? Or do you want us to both assume full responsibility for containing Russia and also supplement US operations all over the world? Because if it's the latter, then that just sounds like a role-reversal from where we were before.

This is the cognitive dissonance I was talking about. Make up your minds about what you expect of us before you get mad at us for failing to live up to it.

(That's not directed at you specifically, rather to any people who can't seem to make up their minds regarding what Europe's role in US strategic thinking ought to be).

I just cant get over the big Don surviving the epstein shit only to destroy his coalition over a nothing sand nigger country most cant point to on a map all for Israels benefit, WE FUCKING DID THIS ALREADY WITH IRAQ.

it just gets a little exhausting, we are doing the same dang mistake again, remind me what happened to bush in 2006 after the war in iraq was widely condemned and the economy was in the toilet?

So basically the whole thing is likely to stay in the 4-6 week range? Not too bad honestly. Hopefully it works! The mullahs, those who survive, no matter what will be returning to a situation where they’re up shit creek. A month with no government, no banks, no money, continuous airstrikes, hunting down the basiji and irgc honchos almost for sport, makes you wonder what institutions are capable of being choked out and shit on like that while an uprising is clearly being fomented and armed. Worst case their repressive apparatus is severely weakened as a civil war explodes underneath them. Iran in chaos is still an obvious win in my book!
