If using the military to stop a hostile nation from seeking and gaining the ability to harm us, a nation that calls for our death daily, who has actively attempted to build nuclear bombs and long range missiles, who has violated diplomatic norms not even seen by the Russians at the height of the cold war, is not a valid use of military force, then there is no such thing as a valid proactive use of military force.

It may surprise some people, but America does not need to wait until boats are landing on our shores or missiles hitting our land for our military to keep our nation safe. Any service members sacrificing their life for this end is a tragedy. But it is infinitely better to do that than for a 9/11 photo op as the last administration did.
