I think it's just because I am not doing enough to show people it's a thing and it works.
Yes. The little kiwi-to-egg slider needs to be more prominent than at the bottom of the page, and maybe include a small blurb saying something like "want the other kiwis to hatch? donate to help them!" or something - you need to unironically start channeling PPP with how you advertise the BillPay. It also wouldn't hurt to try coming up with and Claude'ing more paid features as incentives. The sponsor banners were and still are a good motivator, but it evidently isn't enough to get 600.

I said deposited but I used the wrong term-the bank said paid. I assumed paid meant you had deposited it but I admit I’m a retard when it comes to old fashioned payment methods.

I’ll wait, it’s only been 14 days. I just have anxiety I paid some farm in New Zealand.
I set up BillPay on 2/16; my credit union cut a check and sent it out on 2/23, which is what they mean by "paid." Given the time lag between snailmailing it across the country, and somebody picking it up from the PO box, recording it, and depositing it—I've decided to wait until March 10 before going full turbokaren and demanging to know why I'm not flying AnCap colors yet.

I set it up on the 1st of feb, check was sent on the 9th from my bank, it was deposited on the 23rd, and I was credited on the 26th. Checks be slow and old tech, but at least tranny resistant. I set my next billpay to be $40 to cover an extra month for lag in check processing.

At what point should we reach out? I set up my billpay on Feb 3 and it's currently the 28th. I'm not so much concerned about the rewards as I am making sure that Josh got the money. I haven't seen anything in my Email about it not going through or there being a delay.
Took 45 days from my first cheque to getting the gold banner. I was in the first few groups and the time has gone down since then, but 30 days is pretty sane given the lag in each step of the process (from setting it up to the cheque getting sent, from getting sent to getting received, from received to cashed, and then from cashed to Null getting confirmation). But once you're through that first cheque lag, it basically stays up to date.

Damn, US cost of living must be an even bigger bitch compared to Eastern Europe than I imagined.
Right now the cost of living has been the worse it's been in my entire life here. Wages really haven't increased, prices for things that matter haven't really gone down even if technically infaltion has. I know this has been the hardest time I've had financially ever. Even a couple years ago it wasn't this bad. At least where I am.

But hey, we bombed some sandniggers in the middle east I guess. Yay!

It always ends in tears, trying to figure out how other users navigate the site, but I should bring this up for science:

Even recently I've had people message me asking "why is your banner a different color." Especially on the day or so when bordered avatars suddenly became round.

I point them here, and it's influenced my decision not to turn the bling off.

Maybe FOMO is also worth a try; there have to be a lot of users who are "going to get around to" setting up billpay. First 600 pledges get a second toggleable banner (or icon etc.); subscriber #601 doesn't. Cute little kiwi holding a flag or something, links back to the "how to donate" thread.

The farms is Wikipedia forabout Retards so a big, Jimmy Wales style, appeal notice on top of every page should work, it can't be a link hidden in the community submissions.

example.png
I found this random medium blogpost, https://archive.is/9HTGY, while looking for this example and it evaluates the design of this donation notice, designers and marketers of the farms, thoughts on this?
I also found another blogpost of an older design, https://archive.is/utiqO, which deemed the red as too scary to make people donate.
The big green box would work in my opinion.

I think it's just because I am not doing enough to show people it's a thing and it works.
I think leaning on KF Gold being a proof-of-concept for a deplatform-resistant funding source that others can implement and doing a little media tour could drum up some extra donations from edgy and politisperg creators that may not otherwise be interested in the farms. It may even be helpful to try to connect with cash/check advocates that aren't in quite as grimy sectors, though admittedly the odds of success may be stacked against you.

you need to unironically start channeling PPP
PPP could give some useful tips on making a sales pitch for kiwi gold, and it's worth talking to him about it if you haven't already.
It may also be possible to make an alternate pitch this billpay setup with USIPS branding, focusing on deplatforming resistance and minimizing the focus on KF specifically, in case it fits the situation better.
I doubt given the nature of why one would use a billpay setup like this (among other reasons) that you would be able to make it a viable platform, but it may be possible to sell setup and consulting services for it. Being the operator of this site means you're already putting in a ton of time to be ahead of the curve for handling insane situations and edge cases, and that knowledge is valuable enough that people would pay for it, especially edgy politisperg creators that have more transient money than sense.

You might already be doing all of this and I haven't seen it. It's been a while since I've kept up with payment system updates. Good luck!

I'm going to be making a big beg post in the future about our current situation. I'd really hate to get aggressive with nags but it's like, we kinda have to float this boat right now.
1. you should add a CTA button under the featured post box that tells people they can feature posts too if they buy Kiwi Gold

2. you should show all usable stickers when someone brings up the sticker select dialog and gray out ones that are paywalled with a Kiwi Gold logo. clicking one takes you to a standalone page (not a forum post full of boring words) that clearly outlines all the benefits of Kiwi Gold

3. keep begging for money on every MATI video. the reason every YT video has a section where they ask for likes and smash the subscribe button and sign up for my patreon is because it works

the average person is STUPID and LAZY and LOVES STICKERS and only does the right thing because someone forces them to. browbeat them into submission

Thank you; this is good to know. I had no idea how long it was going to take, but now I can just forget about it until late March, instead of using up my one turbokaren token for the year.

Some unsolicited advice and a little knowledge from the autism microniche and furry convention scene: No financially serious convention parent company does their own fund drive. They hire a company to run those, like the charity auctions. None of them even run their own convention, they hire contractors. Why? Those owners know how to assemble really fun and crowd drawing autistic panels over Star Trek/Star Wars/My Little Pony/Crochet/Coin/Gin etc. etc. but are the absolute worst at running money gathering operations or personel for various reasons. Many are going broke and never even mention it until its too late and go tits up even though the attendees would have happily donated.

No offense meant, and you do know how to run the draw and entertainment (the forum), but SUCK at marketing your needs, the site's needs, and your feelings to your crowd (autists). Expressing your needs and site priorities in a way that an autistic person (the users) would emotionally understand and take seriously needs an expert at retaining autistic attention, stimulation, and getting them to spend money...

My advice: Retain the Kino Casino as a subcontractor to run KiwiRaisers on your live streams, like, once a quarter or something. Offer a cut and performance milestones. You get up there, say why you need money and what it goes towards, "Yeah, so the tranny is trying to sue us and if I don't have enterprise grade hardware and a legal trust I will have to close the site. So I need money to keep the site open and the IRS takes 1/3 of it and I am going to... fuck a... dude!" the "TRANNIES ARE COMING TO TAKE AWAY YOUR FORUMS, PEOPLE! WHOAH BUDDY, WE GOTTA HELP OUR FRIEND JOSH... it's for the Kiwis, for YOU, it goes to a GREAT CAUSE! Now let's get the cheese meter up, buddy! We need to get him that Cheddar or its no more Kiwi Farms, buddy. We gotta stop them together... and I need some money for the track tomorrow. (Andy ringing a triangle in the background every time a dono drops)" PPP is a charisma dripping autism whisperer and balances your dryness and emotionless misery very well.

Most people on this forum do not listen to the podcast.

Ah, shit... I got tunnel vision from my own experience where your podcast came first before I used the site.

Probably good to start with "carrot" informative banners. Maybe below the sponsored post banners to start with. "Get shiny badge and banner and your post could be here! Starting at $20/month". You should find out where user's eyes go the most and try advertising there. Maybe above highlighted thread posts or high-engagement posts below the ratings. "Unlock these ratings today!"

Now for the stick. The Wikipedia method might be your best example. Constant stimulation of a "crisis" and empathy baiting to make people feel like a bad thing is happening to them to get anxious (and their money can make the anxiety go away) does work on people. Normal charities try to use "positive empathy" stuff summarized in what is probably an AI Sloppah summary: https://www.spotfund.com/blog/ncSA7w-emotional-engagement-in-fundraising

BUT, online communities are more susceptible to second-hand anxiety. You will see that is what Wikipedia started doing to GREAT effect.

"We are not for sale and can not allow it to happen!": The site is at risk of being conquered by Elon Musk, your enemy.
"Only <1% support us.": Nobody is helping, you are alone.
"Democracy and freedom depends on us.": You will be thrown in fascism jail if we don't raise money.
"We are only at 17% of what we NEED.": We are going to fail because you didn't help.

AND they blast this at them every time they load the page. Anxiety generator. When users donate they excuse themselves from the banner AND the anxiety. Essentially, Wikipedia gave them the disease and then offered the cure.
It is disgusting because Wikimedia is a scam investment fund. In the forum's case, it really is at risk, so it is fully ethical for you to be honest to the users.

LFJ wants to sue us, Alyssa Mercante wants to sue us, some other fag wants to sue us, Greer will continue suing us. Gobbles is suing us. We have low five figures in the litigation fund from 2023.
Considering the success of the last fundraiser for litigation, would it be possible to do that again? It doesn't help the monthly situation but a lot of people rallied to help when you did that. You could even add an aside about supporting you and the site with kiwi gold. It would at least be one less thing to worry about as you upped monthly support.
