So why would they install a new one right after toppling the one they hated?
I see we're getting into a misunderstanding, when I say Muslim government, I mean a government that is mostly ran by Muslim people's. It would ideally be democratic, but even a democratic government in the middle east isn't immune to radicalism in a region, so ideally it would be a democratic government filled with moderates or even progressives (by middle eastern standards).

For what it's worth, I've heard nothing but wonderful news about the collapse of Islam in Iran for the last 5 years. It makes sense, too. When you have a theocracy, approval of religion becomes intertwined with secular politics: if you're upset with gas prices you're upset with the Mullahs. But yeah, I've heard Christian missionaries have been in a feeding frenzy over there, so it's not just speculation.

I'd also like to note, if Trump creates an enduring pro-western government in Iran, he will be committing one of the biggest achievements in history. Let me walk you through Iranian-western relations the last 3 millenniums.

Ancient Greece: the Achaemenid empire tries to conquer, with mixed results thanks to the Spartans. Alexander gets the honor of being the only westerner to conquer them, and eventually they become a Seleucid state. This will be the one exception so far.

Ancient Rome: Parthia and later the Sassanids act as the Russia to Rome's America. Rome comes close a few times, but never manages to conquer them.

Middle Ages: Arabs conquer Iran, admittedly they become worthless for a long time during this period because they're cucked by Arabs and Turks, but they are still firmly in the Dar-El-Islam.

Early Modern: Iran sees a resurgence, oppose the west primarily in southeast Asia by offering troops to local Muslims.

Modern Era: the Brits create an unpopular puppet government in Iran, it gets overthrown and creates the Islamic Republic we know today.

That's almost 3 thousand years the West has been trying to control or ally with Iran. The closest we got is a temporary puppet government. If Trump manages to create an uncoerced ally of them, it will put him on the same level as Alexander and Nicator.

Rev up those rainbows lads, I'm feeling optimistic!

They already where defeated, in hockey, wich may as well be a direct military confrontation, all that there's to do now is the paperwork and kick every single jeet and chinese infecting the country.

I know Heraclius was Greek and a Byzantine Emperor, but you aren't giving him credit here.
If it wasn't for the fucking Muslims, we would put this guy on the same level as Justinian, Constantine, and dare I say even Aurelian

I mean, yes? If you mean a government ran by ethnic Muslims. Because it's a ethnic Muslim majority country. I don't expect them to be ran by hindus. What I'm contesting is that it needs to be or will be religiously Islamic, which I think it won't be. Christianity is the fastest growing religion in the region. The odds of a completely secular aren't great, but there's a chance. That's not to say there's not going to be Islam worshipping Muslims in the government. But I don't think Islam will be the core of the new government.
