Disaster Active shooter alert issued for areas in and around Tumbler Ridge, B.C. - Residents asked to shelter in place; suspect described as "woman" in a dress with brown hair

An active shooter alert has been issued for a large area in and around Tumbler Ridge in B.C.'s northeast.

The alert was issued Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. PT by RCMP, and it covers Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, Dawson Creek and areas surrounding them.

Police say those in the Tumbler Ridge area should stay indoors and shelter in place, and not leave their homes.

The suspect in the case has been described as a woman in a dress with brown hair.

Anyone who sees the suspect has been asked not to approach them and to call 911.

There already is some restrictions on knives in Canada, switch blades and butterfly knives for example are illegal to own here. You also can’t conceal a knife or carry it to use for self defence. So not out of the realm of possibility they will add more restrictions in the future.

Considering they are pushing the treatment as a suicide preventative measure this makes sense. If the treatment doesn't do what they've said then they lied to the family and caused the suicide instead of preventing it, so they'd be liable for that too. I agree to that expansion you just said.
