Disaster Active shooter alert issued for areas in and around Tumbler Ridge, B.C. - Residents asked to shelter in place; suspect described as "woman" in a dress with brown hair

An active shooter alert has been issued for a large area in and around Tumbler Ridge in B.C.'s northeast.

The alert was issued Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. PT by RCMP, and it covers Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, Dawson Creek and areas surrounding them.

Police say those in the Tumbler Ridge area should stay indoors and shelter in place, and not leave their homes.

The suspect in the case has been described as a woman in a dress with brown hair.

Anyone who sees the suspect has been asked not to approach them and to call 911.

The official definition of "school shooting" is notoriously loose. I tried to limit this list to shootings that were perpetrated by or against against students - so that excludes things like former employees targeting their employers or colleagues. I also tried to exclude gang related shootings.
Since 2000, there have been 47 incidents meeting this criteria. Four of them involved trans shooters. That's 8.5%. If you exclude college shootings and limit it to k-12, that number jumps to 11.4% (4 out of 35). The first occurred in 2019. Since 2019, there have been 19 shootings meeting the above criteria. Meaning that since 2019, trannies account for over 21% of school shooters, and over 28% if you exclude college.

If this does turn out to be a another tranny shooting, they will now account for 35% of school shootings (k-12) since 2019.
