Yep. It was the checks sent to Judas goat Michael Cohen. The claim was that Cohen's payment to Daniels was supposed to be listed as a campaign expense, but Trump's attorney listed the checks Trump signed to his lawyer as being a legal expense. This was the misdemeanor that they wanted to put him in prison for 200+ years over, since they claimed that it was actually a felony since it was in furtherance of a secondary crime that Trump was never charged with, much less convicted of.

Yes, the falsification argument is the settlement payments were mislabeled as attorney fees or legal expenses in furtherance of attempting to commit....some felony. It gets kind of gray on the later part. Either attempting to violate a New York state law related to elections which would have required to have him violate a federal law related to elections or somehow tax fraud that they didn't really get into the specifics of how that would have helped him do that. He was convicted of a felony for each entry that was claimed to be labeled falsely.
